What do you do when you don't feel like walking your dog?

I'm tired and don't feel good.

I suck it up and walk the dog. That's part of the deal with being a pet owner.

Depends on if you have a yard or not. But when I don't feel like going on a walk, then I take the dog in the front or backyard and play with him and a toy. It still wears him out and gives me a little break.

Give the dog up. You are not ready for pet ownership.

You pay someone to do it.

Sometimes I don't feel like feeding my children. But I do it anyway.

This....Unless you hire someone.

Have to agree. On the rare occasion I'm pathetically sick and cannot move (key), I do put my dog out on a run for about 10 minutes to do her business. Then I make sure she gets activity and play in the house. Sometimes this involves me sitting at the top of the stairs throwing a stuffed toy down and having her fetch it and bring it back up. She gets a huge kick out of it, gets some good exercise, and I can keep a trash can for puking right next to me.

A Kong with some buiscuits in it is also good if they like chewing/playing with that.

But you've got to let them relieve themselves on a regular basis; it's not fair otherwise.

I suck it up. I could easily forego her walk, she's very small and we have a yard, but the guilt is overwhelming. When she looks at me with her adorable little face, ready to go on her beloved walk, she's won me over. I strap my 4 yr. old in the jogger and off we go. I'm ALWAYS glad I did take the walk, her and I both got excerise.

OP,
No backyard, no choice.

Then you need to suck it up and do it.

10:22 I'm 10:14, I'm telling OP she's got no choice. I'm not sure how you'd think the post was from OP, not to her.

My old boss (I worked out of her home) would occasionally let the dog "escape" from her home in Woodley Park. Inevitably someone would catch him and call her number and then I would have to go and pick him up. God that woman was a piece of work!

No idea. That's why I don't have a dog or any other pets. Don't want the responsibility. Kids are more than enough.

I echo others. You just gotta do it. No yard here, either. My dog has to go out--but honestly I see it as a form of exercise for myself. We powerwalk for about 45 minutes each afternoon and I always feel better when we get home. Do you get bored? I take my phone with me and call my mom while we walk. You can do it.
