I get the feeling of a weekend away when my kids were little. It was exhausting and never ending. But now…with teens? I’m chasing them down. And my two are same ages and to give up a weekend with my senior who is leaving in 13 weeks exactly is insane to me. And my teens are fun to be with and Mother’s Day celebration is something we all enjoy.

So weird.

And she leaves every other weekend so it’s not like this is her one shot at a kid free weekend.

Everyone’s lives are different. It’s just the non stop posting about just how great her life is that seems off.

A weekend away would be nice. I don’t think anyone is knocking that. I wouldn’t personally do it on Mother’s Day, but to each their own.

I just think it’s funny that she needs the “break”. Girl, you just had an “AirBnb” weekend with your friends. And a weekend with your “boyfriend” the month before that. And a weekend in Nashville and trip to the beach the month before. And all of your Broadway trips to New York. And your month long Me camp last summer - that you’re planning again. Do you need a break - or are you avoiding REAL life?

My senior son watched a movie with me Saturday night. I was SO THRILLED.
All I can think about during these last days of high school is me dropping him off at preschool (sob)
He’s leaving me this year (sob)
This might be the last Mothers Day I ever have all my babies around my table (sob) with my 80 year old mom there too (sob)
Hell no I wouldn’t go to Mexico.

Especially since, from Texas, you gotta realize Mexico is super cheap & easy to do.
