ECNL for the North Atlantic or Northeast has always started in late November for the U15 and older age groups. This year is no different.

Except this year there’s no HS soccer to fill the now to Nov time.

ECNL the most elite 6 month soccer league money can buy.

ECNL girls play year around. 6 months of elite level and 6 months of HS (GAL level)

I know. Was it too harsh of a comparison? HS may be slightly above GAL

Yeah, that didn't refute the fact that ECNL is just a 6 month league that you pay 10 months for.

You would be the one to know how bad HS soccer is because you have to play it if you're playing any soccer at all. Is HS making your kid any better?

ECNL, where we hit your credit card monthly whether you play free HS soccer or nothing at all.

ECNL, the most expensive free HS soccer you can get.

ECNL, you get both a patch and a rec (ahem Varsity) letter.

ECNL, where you paid 6K for the year for elite soccer training but you get a track coach for four months of it.

Fact checker here:

7th and 8th graders play year around
9-12 train Aug-Feb

March-June they play high school PLUS one week ECNL training and mutiple showcases. Back to full ECNL training in June for nationals

When it's all said and done, ECNL plays more

Now, post your GA cost and I'll post the ECNL cost

That is a stunning revelation that middle school kids don't play high school soccer.

Another fact, middle school kids don't get scouted, but high school age kids do.

I'll bite. My GA cost so far this year was the normal team fee. 1150 after redux from spring ball.
Gas driving to places planned so far.

You set yourself up with that comment. No league is comparable to ECNL for college placememt

Well GA will be comparable, as DA was comparable.

ECNL college numbers went down drastically when the DA was around...will be similar with GA, but not as bad as ECNL consumed some of the former DA teams.

ECNL didn't bow to high school before DA and now they have to live with it.

ECNL USED to be a full 10 month season and kids who wanted to play HS chose one or the other BUT they could still get a full 10 month ECNL season. That is no longer an option.

ECNL set themselves up for that in a short term appeal to DA players. Now they have to live with nearly all of their players playing crappy high school soccer or none at all.

So if you are in NOVA enjoy having two weeks in the spring to gear up for ECNL summer showcases and playoffs after playing 4 months of HS soccer instead of training with and playing good soccer with club. I think it sounds like a great idea to roll into a showcase after being 4 months removed form my team.

1. ECNL didn't bow to high school before DA - FACT - This was used as a marketing for ECNL over the DA "You get to play HS if you want"
2. ECNL USED to be a full 10 month season and kids who wanted to play HS chose one or the other BUT they could still get a full 10 month ECNL season - FACT - My kid opted for school ball while most of the team opted for ECNL team. When school ball wasn't available she joined the ECNL team. Prior to DA, the ECNL coaches discouraged playing HS.
3. ECNL set themselves up for that in a short term appeal to DA players - FACT - The ECNL used the HS pitch to get DA players to move over, which worked in many cases. Let's see how they pivot now. My guess is the pivot will be to the 10 mon elite training with ECNL team.

I'm not seeing falsehoods in this, but truth.
