| Received pool letter on Friday in mail and CogAT scores on Saturday in the mail. 22180. |
Would be nice if schools offered this setup but they don't (not consistently anyway). So you have to find your way into the full level IV program just for the advanced math. If I were you OP, I'd parent refer and make sure to include work samples that address the areas where your child had lower scores. |
So true. I know kids who were in Advanced Math from 2nd-4th and then they changed some things around at our school and they aren't eligible anymore. We went from having a class of 3rd grade advanced math gen ed. kids to having 1 gen ed third grader in advanced math. Level IV is the only way to be sure to get advanced math. |
DD’s lowest scores a couple of years back was also in reading, although she is an excellent reader with great vocabulary. We submitted writing samples to demonstrate this, and she got in. |
My DC's scores are similar to yours, first PP. We are parent referring with two language arts related work samples and one math that shows spatial reasoning (plus one math-ish showing curiosity/initiative because DC took free time in class to do it). I know DC's teacher believes she should be in Level IV, so hopefully GBRS will be good. |
| Any one still waiting for the COGAT test results ? |
We are but DD is in 4th grade not 2nd so I'm not sure if that matters. She took it at the same time as the 2nd graders so I was assuming the results would have all been mailed together but maybe not. We're in 22015. |
Thanks, that explains the delay, we are also waiting for 4th grade results and in 22153 zip. |
| We are in 22027 and still waiting for second grade COGAT. |
Us too. Is it possible that some schools get scores before break and others after? Seems unfair. |
| We are second grade in 22315 and don’t have scores yet, either. |
Did your mail come today? |
| We got scores and in pool letter in the same envelope in the mail today. 22181 |
| Still none here. |
| Scores in the mail in 22153 |
