Not until after the enrollment deadline.

Why not? If people call the school today to decline, they can start calling waitlisted kids.

I’m sorry.

Actually that's not a bad number for Basis. We got a similar one and got before the summer.

You have a good shot at Basis.

Breakthrough Petworth - 3

Any chance at our top three? Wish we'd gotten these numbers in PK!

I think ITS usually goes deeper than 17 on the waitlist for 1st. Not sure about the rest, but I’d count out YY andDCB.

Lee also a definite possibility.

Anonymous wrote:H D Cooke - waitlist #6 as inbound. Heartbroken as are not happy with our daycare and were really counting on it. Any hope?

We are at Cooke, and while I know you are disappointed, there has historically been at least a little bit of movement late in the summer or early in the fall. If you are willing to start school much later in the year (e.g., December), stay in touch with the school about whether a spot becomes available. Sometimes people decide that their child is not ready for preschool and pull them after a couple months of school. Sometimes people move (it's a fairly transient part of the city). Sometimes people get off other waitlists and move later in the year as well.

Either way, you will almost certainly get in next year as it's an expansion year at Cooke with one more classroom and more students per class. Good luck!!

I think you're the first poster to talk about Deal in this thread. I'm about to post a thread about Middle schools and the lottery, because this thread has me confused.

I think this year is going to be strange because there will be more movement at PK3, PK4, and K than normal (due to new MV campus, mostly) but 1st grade really won't feel that. Good luck, but my guess is that 1st might be a difficult year this year.

Nope. We're in the 20s on their waitlist every year with one kid or the other. On count day, we always remain stoically in the 20s....

5th grade, only applied to Latin and got in. Kind of stunned.

What does “not waitlisted” mean?

That a school was ranked lower than a match so you're automatically bumped off of the waitlist. This person ranked Latin below Basis. Matched at Basis and lost their spot at Latin (aka not waitlisted).
