Do your local deli people get annoyed when you ask for shaved meats?

I'm critical of it. If you want your sandwich to feel like processed meat mush in your mouth why not just skip the middleman and buy a can of devilled ham or spam? You're not going to be able to tell the difference from that nasty shaved meat that turns into a paste as soon as you chew it.

Really processed lunch meat in general is gross. Not from a "oh noes chemicals!" standpoint, just from a "why would anyone enjoy slices of oversalted homogenous loaf" standpoint. Thick chunks roasted turkey breast? Oh yeah. A nice sliced rare roast beef? Absolutely. Spiral cut ham? Pile it up! Salt-solution injected tube-formed byproduct? No thanks.

After 6 years, I can finally die in peace. Thank you for your comment.

I promise you the deli worker is less annoyed than the person standing behind you having to wait forever for your meat to be shaved just right.
