How is it possible that Walt Whitman high school has a score of 4 on greatschools.org??

NP here. Well, well, well. I'm floored. Rockville, Clarksburg, Magruder, Northwest, Sherwood (schools that have historically been considered subpar to Whitman) all received higher ratings than the prestigious W school!

this is data from Montgomery County. You can argue about diversity and other factors but there is no denying that Whitman is preparing kids for college.

Well, Northwest and Sherwood do have ws in them. We'll have to figure out how to change the names of Rockville, Clarksburg, and Magruder.

My guess is that all of those who feel that Wootten is diverse are probably white Americans. They feel comfortable with the diversity because their children are exposed to minorities while still being the dominant (if not majority) demographic sub-group.

For those who feel that 40-40-7-6 is wonderfully diverse, how would you feel putting your child in a high performing school with 40% black students, 40% Hispanic students, 12% Asian students and 6% white students? Most of you wouldn't consider that school and would find other reasons for criticizing that school and using that as an excuse to keep your white children out of it.

Nobody has said "wonderfully diverse" about Wootton on this thread.

Also it's not 40-40-7-6. It's 46-37-7-6-4.

Of course - every kid at Whitman is getting tutored for SAT's and AP's. If you feel PARCC is that important then of course go with the school that has the highest scores. I am more concerned with my kids being prepared for college and being able to handle the work and to me Whitman will do that more than Einstein.

When are you people going to realize that Greatschools is run buy real estate interests and is not at all skewed towards the actual rating of the schools? Many of you follow it like its the Bible when in fact its a sham to make you buy into the neighborhoods where the agents have excess properties.
