Who knows, but IME, the people who are gung ho about their kids going to "elite" schools are not really interested in their kids being risk-taking entrepreneurs. Except for parents who want their kids to be doctors, most want their kids to go to elite schools and select marketable majors so that they have access to elite jobs (working for someone else.)

Smartest people - one to William and Mary (from well out of state - it was someone I went to high school with in the Midwest), one to Cornell, one to University of Minnesota.

Richest - a no-name Jesuit college that might not even exist anymore. He's a baby boomer though, so stuff was different back then. Of GenX/Millennials who aren't family rich, University of Alabama.
