I once gave directions to the Jefferson Memorial to Kelly Bensimon who appeared on the Real Housewives of NY. She was even wearing the same sweater I'd seen her wear on tv.
I also met Sherrod Brown back in the day when he was a state legislator in Ohio (he's now a US Senator) during my days as an anti-nuke activist. So, nothing too exciting. Senator sightings are obviously a dime a dozen here in DC. |
I met Subway's ex-spokesman Jared Fogle at the White House Easter Egg Roll.
I don't tell people about that one anymore. |
Michael Jordan
Pele Andre Agassi |
I knew Dominique Dawes growing up in this area. |
I was walking through a park in the West Village with friends, when a bout of food poisoning struck me. As if suffering from food poisoning in a public place weren't embarrassing enough, Phillip Seymour Hoffman was nearby and witnessed it all. He was very kind, and found humor in my self-deprecation. |
I've met:
Michelle Obama (very warm and really interacted with everyone) Laura Bush (lovely lady, this was during Bush's 2nd term) John Kerry (this was in college when I volunteered @ his HQ in the area) Idina Menzel (surprised me how tiny she is in real life) Tim Gunn (very sweet, but our meeting was brief) Lauren Graham (she's exactly like her Gilmore Girls character in real life and so down to Earth, big fan after meeting her) Clinton Kelly (he was very snarky, but in a lovable way) Keisha Knight Pulliam (not sure if that's spelled correctly, met her when she was teen & she was friends with my friend's sister) Chris Martin (after meeting him, no clue how he stayed married to Gwyneth for as long as he did) Rosie O'Donnell (liked her a lot before meeting her, not so much after... loud, loud, LOUD) |
Bill Clinton
Hillary Clinton Barack Obama George W. Bush Laura Bush Queen Elizabeth Quentin Tarantino Ben Affleck Jennifer Love Hewitt Shannen Doherty Harrison Ford Jason Priestly Traci Lords Madonna Pamela Anderson Lee Christie Brinkley But, I'm a former journalist, so ... |
I have always heard he's super nice and normal. |
Tucker went to Gonzaga. I knew him when he was in college. |
Chelsea Clinton (spent decent amount of time with her on a few occasions. totally normal and nice)
Bill & Hillary also more than once. Both politician-y and forced. Bill was very red (this was in the late 90s). Warren Christopher - had dinner with him once at an ex bf's house whose dad was a big shot at the State Dept. He asked me what my favorite movie was and I stumbled to say something smart (I was 17). Jason Sehorn - through a work thing. Tall, hot, and very nice. John Mayer - this was a random one. Right when he was becoming big (2001?) I was at a party at a college friend's apartment in NYC. Turns out her roommate went to high school with John Mayer, and he showed up. Everyone was trying to be cool. He was kind of a douchebag (lounging waiting for everyone to fawn over him) but not ridiculously so. Tall with a big head, just like he looks in pictures. I've seen but not met Reese Witherspoon - like others she is TINY in person. |
I went to a super liberal sleep away camp with Matt Drudge. |
If she wasn't Rosie O'Donnell, and so annoying gin other ways, LOUD wouldn't bother me at all. New Yorkers are generally loud - but good people, as a whole. I don't hold the fact that they are who are against them. |
Not famous to most, but they are to me:
Shirley Manson (Garbage) Siouxsie Sioux (and rest of band) DC people: Joe Biden Newt Gingrich |
Oh, wait. It wasn't me, but a college friend was hitch hiking in Connecticut one summer and got picked up by an older couple.
She hopped in the back seat and the driver turns to ask her where she's going. It was Paul Newman with wife Joanne Woodward! |
Christopher Reeve Even better looking in person and very nice
Tony Randall Elegant and polite Bill Murray very funny and sweet Chief Justice Roberts Very nice but I disagree with most of his rulings Billy Idol total asshole (this was during his really bad drug use days) |
