I am not a fan of Jayz, but the difference here is that he rapped about it, whereas Trump was caught saying he actually did it and thought women let him do it because he's famous.
Now, maybe Jazy does it, too, but as others have noted, he is not running for POTUS. If he did I'm sure many women, myself included, wouldn't vote for him. |
So it's fine for Michelle to promote artists who rap violent, misogynist lyrics as long as the artists aren't running for president? |
It's totally fine b/c it's Michelle O. and she's so cool! So she can invited Beyonce to Camp David and praise Jay Z - and call out Trump for being a sexist pig. She can do it all and she can do no wrong. |
|
The Jay-Z argument is too stupid for most words. As are these desperate posters. Man, you each (assuming there's more than 1 of you) need a time machine so you can avail yourselves of brain transplants.
Should Eisenhower tried to imprison Nabokov for writing 'Lolita'? Humbert H was like a protorapper in the opening of that book, and he fucked a little girl! Wait, he was an artist, as is Sean Carter, who has sold a fuckton of records where he raps different characters, scenarios (oh shit, I hope no one ever invites Tribe to the White House...)? Oh dear. Michelle Obama is better educated, no doubt a better parent and more accomplished than any of you hate-idiots who have been dragging her into your non-arguments for 8 years. Let me guess, Melania (who I don't even dislike), with her fudging her work visa status and her racy photos, is 'bringing class to the White House' right? And none of this 'Big Pimpin' level of knuckle-dragging duh will ever change that myriad women with confirmed complaints were assaulted by Donald Trump and you not only don't care, you mock those that do. |
Did you just compare Jay Z to Nabokov?
|
I find it more interesting that you're comparing a rapper's lyrics to the president of the united states' words. One is an entertainer, the other is supposed to be the leader of a great nation. |
You may hate the fact that he's outearned by a factor of what, 1000, 5000, 10000? But Jay-Z is an artist, though no one said their works are one and the same, genius. |
No you have ASSumed that a black woman started this thread. So maybe you are sexist because you ASSumed a white woman wouldn't dare question her sisters? |
I agree, but we'll never hear liberals admitting that these rappers and the misogynistic words they use are to be condemned. Never. They condemn the racist and misogynistic views of others, but never the rappers they and our current president adore. Apparently, they're above reproach. It's interesting, isn't it? |
WTF? |
So, hold up (just trying to roll with your lingo): you're actually comparing Jay-Z to Nabokov? I'd say a "hate-idiot" is someone who admires and praises someone for writing lyrics like the above. But that's just me.
I actually like Michelle Obama, but I think her elevating these misogynistic rappers was a mistake. And I think a lot of people agree. |
Not the PP, but clearly you don't see anything wrong with the leader of a great nation inviting this kind of entertainer into "the people's house." |
Oh, please knock it off. And as a white woman, I don't consider only other white women to be my sisters. I consider ALL women to be my sisters. Unlike you, of course. |
No, I don't because past presidents have invited people with questionable morals, careers, and judgements as honored guests and even as staff in the people's house before. I just expect more of the representative who leads this nation. |
