Yes. Does this offend you? |
But his legal residence was Mass. Where you are legally resident determines all sorts of things, including where your kids can go to public school. |
Then they are committing motor vehicle, tax and insurance fraud. |
No. You should report the red flag. Let DCPS then investigate and consider what the facts are. |
I have been shut out and wait-listed for two consecutive and I really don't get it. |
Absolutely correct. |
Yeah, sure... the little kid knows about IB and OOB.... |
You can only have one legal residence. It's hard For me to sympathize with DC government employees who live in PG but sneak their kids into DCPS for the convenient and cheap daycare. |
Why do you want to shut this thread down? Isn't it past your bedtime already out there in Landover? |
No one cares about finishing out the last two month of the year. They care a lot about ongoing residency fraud. |
The kid is not a criminal or a liar. I'm with you on reporting but why do you have so much disdain directed at the kid? |
I do not believe this story. There has been a moratorium on foreclosures in the District for quite some time now. They are just now starting to issue title policies for foreclosures. There were not any foreclosures in all of DC 2 years ago. |
The disdain is directed at the scammer parents. But the kid should not be a reason to withhold reporting suspected fraud. |
Well, then if the accusation is unfounded consequences might occurred, as the investigation would have been a waste of public funds and resources. This method you are proposing -more of the Middle Ages, French/Spanish/Italian Inquisition type- might be used as an instrument of harassment and discrimination. How would a family feel after being accused by 7 families dozens of times because, for example, they simply don't like them? FWIW, we have been shut out every single year we have applied to the lottery, so no, I am -obviously- not a cheater. |
| This is an issue not just in JKLMM but in other public schools and charters. When my kids were at John Eaton, there were a ton of kids there who lived in Prince George's. Heck, even the principal at the time, "Dr." Willie McElroy, resided in MD and yet his son was at Eaton . Talk about a signal that residency fraud was no problem. At the time, Eaton had no tuition paying students. The principal was later forced out. |
