New Elementary School Opening near the National Cathedral

This honestly seems like one of those mail-order gimmicks that never actually worked but looks great when advertised. I'm sure it's a great school, but I really don't see first graders in Texas doing 7th grade math. Seems dubious to me.

Have you read the admissions process???? If not, pour yourself a drink and enjoy. First there is the parent test -- both parents. Then the interview, the submission of the child's portfolio and finally the parent book report. Yes, book report. They appear to be screening for families that fit their ideological mold, but I would think they would take any comers. How many people are actually going to put themselves through this ridiculous process.

The school is scheduled to be open starting this coming fall, right? I wonder if they've enrolled anyone yet. This seems like it will be a total flop here.

I was struck by the school calendar. How can families with two working parents handle a school with most of the month of May off?
