I've heard that Hollywood/LA is fully of very dumb people who are just very good at their one media skill. So he'id probably never met a woman who was both beautiful and brilliant before, plus very cultured. I think her work as a human rights lawyer probably also made her as big a star in George's eyes as he is to hers. George seems to be really quite dedicated to his human rights work.

As for announcing the ceremony, they probably just figured it would be easier to manage if they knew what to prepare for in terms of publicity.

Hardly!! She may be a socialite, but being a socialite alone does not get you to Oxford, nyu law, Sidley Austin, then assigned to high profile human rights cases. She is the real deal, way out of george's league.

Actually it does. anyway, What was the last case she worked on? She sure has lots of spare time for a busy professional.

Lots of socialites like this in NYC and London. They go to Ivy or similar schools, get a law degree at a top 14 school, practice for a short time and then quit to pursue other interests like being a socialite which basically means they dress up and attend fundraisers.

But she did three years at Sidley, worked for a number international tribunals, and now is a barrister at a cutting edge human rights litigation boutique. And she is 36 so hardly seemed like she was just looking for a husband. Being from a rich family probably helped her, but she has a distinguished career on her own merits.

Perhaps she could have had a career. perhaps. But she doesn't.

Sure, it is unclear what she will do now. But seriously, you don't practice law for over 10 years just for kicks. She is an accomplished lawyer, period.

Um, yes she does. She's still a practicing attorney. She's on her law firm's website still. She worked on the Assange case. Maybe she's taking time off now or something, I don't know, but if so it's recent.

She is barred in NY, so yes she can practice here.

What is interesting about her practice is that she is really pretty radical with her international criminal defense practice. She is not out there rescuing puppies - very unphotogenic work except to other defense lawyers.
