WES or St. Andrews

But not serious enough for you to address it anywhere other than an anonymous forum? Way to be brave and responsible.

I have a ms student at the school who is close to being done there. I have witnessed what happens when parents complain; I am not risking that for my child. I want my child to finish strong, and we can then leave. So, yes, I am not going to be brave in this instance.

I'm sure you will be making that complaint at your next school as well. I think we know who is the "certain type."

What happens when parents complain?

I can give you two personal experiences:

1) There is a mother of a middle schooler who fought hard to get her son some instructional accommodations two years ago. Since that time, whenever she walks in the building, I have personally seen teachers and administrators make comments about her and roll their eyes. Just because teachers and administrators use initials, doesn't mean the rest of us can't figure it out. She is openly discussed in the front office - the one there in the lobby. Staff have been overheard referring to the students as a "whiner" who will go home and complain.

2) There is another parent who has several students at the building who voiced concerns about the handling of the teacher firing last year. She is now referred to as the "crazy alcoholic."

Those are the things that happen.

WES needs to consolidate with another school. If possible.

Impersonating clergy is a very serious issue, and I am appalled that the school is allowing it. Either they don't know any better or they don't care.

That's really quite serious (I'm a lay minister in the Episco. church - we never are allowed to wear tippets or collars). Is he wearing the Roman or Epis. collar as well when he wears choir dress?

Actually, no complaints at the next school! WES was a strange place - so happy we moved on!

But you obviously haven't "moved on."

This is quite serious? Seriously? I'm pretty sure Jesus doesn't care about tippets. Maybe you should devote more time to following in his footsteps and less time to getting frantic about sartorial faux pas. "Blessed are those who get worked up about proper tippet etiquette, for surely they have no real problems."

WES defenders have their fangs and claws out! They love to insult when they are not busy brown-nosing at the school!

It is serious. One should never masquerade as a priest if they are not. The unordained do not wear tippets or stoles. The tippet or stole is given to the petitioner when she or she is ordained. Is he also celebrating the Eucharist? He cannot do that either.

How's enrollment this year?

PP, that is a good question. The school's website says 277 students and 220 families. I saw these numbers at the end of the last school year and think it has changed but the school has not updated that page to reflect 2014-2015 enrollment. Someone, please ask them and post back here.

When I asked, I was told that it was in the 240's. I was not given a specific number. I asked at the end of the summer, so the enrollment may have changed before the start of the school year. If it has remained in the 240's, I suspect that explains why the website still provides last year's numbers. Enrollment in the 240's would suggest a drop by more than 10%.
