have you ever had a memorable celebrity encounter? or been hit on by someone famous?

OK, I am dating myself, and I wouldn't call him a "celebrity", but...
it was right before the movie "Karate Kid 3" came out. I was waiting in line at Chicago's in Dupont, which is now Buffalo Billards (I was 19), and the guy who played the "bad guy" in the movie was waiting in line behind me and my girlfriends. He said he was in town to promote his movie, and really tried to get me to come back to his hotel room. We hung out most of the night in the bar, but I had no idea there was a part 3 to that movie and was a completely naive 19 year old. Nothing happened, although he was incredibly good-looking. Guess this isn't a very exciting story in hind-sight. |

| When I was about 10 years old, I ran into Nicholas Cage in FAO Schwartz. This was before he was very famous-- probably only known for "Raising Arizona." I asked him for his autograph and he refused!! In retrospect, I think he should have been flattered that someone even recognized him. I have hated him ever since...... |

I shook hands with the Queen of England and Prince Phillip at a reception at Buckingham Palace a few years ago. My husband still hasn't forgiven me for not curtseying and continually reminds me that Germaine Greer did. I chatted with Germaine - she was cool.
I also queued for the restroom behind Judi Dench at a show. |

I was staying at the Beverly Hilton on business and they were having a Grammys party. I was staying in a cabana room near the pool which required a special key card to get into that area of the hotel, and as I was carrying my dinner to my room and was super-annoyed that I had to walk the long way around b/c they wouldn't let regular people walk down the hall near the red carpet I noticed someone walking quickly to catch up to me as I was about to open the security door to the wing where I was staying --- I figured he didn't have a key card, and I wasn't about to let him in. I pulled the glass door shut behind me and glared at him --- it was PEREZ HILTON...in jammy pants, pink fuzzy slippers, a black hoody, and he had purple hair at the time. He was super-pissed 
I also walked behind Ryan Seacrest who is SUPER short (I mean it's ridiculous). And I was waiting for a cab in front of the hotel when Kanye West pulled up with his entourage (he's super short too). FWIW, Harrison Ford hit on my friend's mom at a party in the Hamptons when he was first dating Calista Flockhart. Actually, he hit on lots of women that night --- he's a total dirtbag. |

IRL, whenever I see a news person, specifically, I can't place them. Their heads are too big or too little. It's because you rarely see them standing up. |
