The Pitt, Season 2

I am really starting to like Dr. Al Hashimi now. She’s interesting.

Totally, and I love that actress.

She reminds me a lot of Jami Gertz

On the other hand, I was just re-watching ep 3 and Dana’s accent is close to the one Madonna used in both the Dick Tracy and Who’s That Girl
movies

Any more over the top and she’d be Annie Potts in Ghostbusters

I don’t know why the actress seems to have ramped it up

PS in his mountain biking gear, the poor ICU nurse who was executed in broad daylight looks a lot like Noah Wyle

Robbie and Al Hashimi seem to be working better together now. Too bad he’s going on sabbatical. I’m starting to like their dynamic.

Did anyone catch that Robbie said he wears his helmet when ridding his motorcycle? What a blatant lie.

I'd imagine the next season will be his reintegration into "her" ER.

I think Louie's getting an "about to die" edit.

While watching last night, I said the same thing. Poor Louie.

It is so unrealistic that they have a jolly chronic alcoholic who needs constant medical attention that the staff adores. this is not how late stage chronic alcoholism presents. Alcoholics aren't jolly and affable when they're going through withdrawal in the hospital. It is ugly and they get angry and anxious because they want' alcohol. And this is not how doctors and nurses react to them. They get frustrated seeing these people over and over again when they're causing their own problems and not helping themselves. I'd be glad to see this story line over, particularly since this show aims for realism.

+1. Endorsing this as someone who personally used to tap ascites to take off fluid from patients like Louie. At a DC hospital.

It’s also false that the rest of Louie apart from his distended abdomen appears healthy. Real-life Louies have obvious yellow eye whites and yellow-tinged skin. Stick arms. And yes, the DTs.

Oh but so much message signaling. She’s Jewish! And was traumatized by the Tree of Life mass shooting! (that occurred in her lifelong neighborhood at her lifelong place of worship that deeply affected the tight Squirrel Hill Jewish community and Jews and empathetic people everywhere)

I think it was to communicate her experience of PTSD and her recognition of bot being okay in Robby. She deals with fireworks around holidays, Robby comes to work at the place where his trauma occurred.

Also, Robby is Jewish. Russian ashkenazi - his last name literally means “son of a rabbi.”

He may not be observant or practicing now, but the history is there and he clearly gets her. That was a very nuanced scene.

I thought it was beautifully done and brought the viewer’s attention to the underlying themes of trauma and connection. I also think part of what people may be seeing with Dana is that she is very deliberately ON. This is her way of coping with trauma. Rabi is very down, and Dana is suppressing in another way. I have a feeling they are both going to break at least a bit before the day is over.

The brain tumor patient and his ex also had incredible performances. They packed so much story and emotion into a little bit of screen time.

The little girl’s dad was such a jerk and unable to control his temper. He referenced custody issues talking to the girlfriend. They have had a lot of screen time so I wonder if they aren’t building to something with him.

So good, season 2 episode 4 (10am):

Did not expect to see the flash dance old guys back side being probed

I hope McKay gets to go on that date but I bet not likely

Was Dr Al hashimi hitting on Robby

Santos saying to Robby and all, “so, do we….like her?” Hahah.

That is going to be flesh eating bacteria or something on that woman’s leg isn’t it?

I can’t watch the scenes with Louie the guy they are draining and the tooth thing without expect him to keel over and die immediately

Are you gossiping about an attending…to an attending?

I feel like the woman is definitely going to wind up having MRSA, VRSA, c-diff, or similar. All of which are highly contagious. Yikes. I am feeling bad for the waitress and also for Langdon.

The story lines this season just aren't very interesting. I kept thinking about turning it off. After that episode not a single thing stuck with me that I cared about what happens next.
