2 things: 1. They aren’t call-ups, and the people posting them as that are doing what US Soccer asked in the communication not to do. It’s a path to call-ups. For now it’s just ID camp. Very happy for the girls identified.

2. Anyone who falls for blaming US Soccer for the miss is gullible. Legitimate programs and coaches know how this works and would have had reason to reach out if something were missed IF they were organized enough or cared enough. Neither of those things happened. (They don’t just forget to get your $$ right?) They will fix it we have been told, all while trashing US Soccer. fine, but they’ve shown you what they are. You do what you will with that information.

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. US Soccer missed the communication and FVU leadership was focused on the 2010 situation with the limited leadership team they have at this time.

So… FVU was able to or cared enough about the boys to submit, but not the girls? And US Soccer is the reason for the screw-up, but only on the girls side? Come on people.

Honestly this is the fault of FVU 2010 parents. They are so high maintenance and forced leadership to shift all the focus to their team in hopes of saving it. And now 2011 and 2012 top players are paying the price

Boys’ center is a week later so probably saved by girls’ parents raising the issue of missed deadlines.

There’s a whole thread but in summary: FVU didn’t hire coaches back. Coaches went to Bethesda. FVU allowed coaches to finish season, including 2010 team to ECNL final 8. Coaches recruited girls from FVU to Bethesda, some of whom had already committed to FVU. ECNL released players over FVU objection. FVU 2010 left with barely enough healthy players to play. Parents on both sides think the other side is evil.

My kid is on the list bro. That’s how I know US Soccer specifically said not to use the term “call-ups” in the communication. Carry on.
