Only 17 percent want it. Of them, only 9 percent "strongly" support it. So who is this for exactly?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2025/08/20/dc-poll-trump-crime-police/
Question should be who is 79% who don’t want crime under control?
This is a disingenuous argument. Stop being stupid. Everyone wants crime under control. 79% of us are against illegal takeover of our city, waste of money, and normalizing fascism. I’m surprised it’s not higher. They must’ve asked around at the wharf.
So what then is your solution to get crime under control? |
|
Well considering that 95% of DC residents are democrats, I actually think that only 79% opposing him is a good sign that what he’s doing is needed.
And to answer your question of “who is it for?”, it’s also for the rest of the people who live in this country, who would like to visit DC to see the museums that our tax dollars pay for, without getting accidentally shot in a gang shooting or carjacked. |
I wish I were as optimistic as you that NG think this is a joke. I spoke with a few who told me they were happy to be here if it made us feel safer. I calmly told them their presence made me feel less safe and they were a little taken aback. I knew if I told them that this was just a stunt they would dig in their heels and write me off as a “Lib” so I just said crime is down and then I felt that this military presence was unnecessary. |

Baltimore is doing a great job lowering crime through social programs. All the data says this but GOP refused to follow facts. |
Do you have the stats of how many tourist get shot and carjack in DC? |
Nope but I’d be willing to bet that 100% of tourists aren’t willing to be included the whatever small percentage that someone may argue that that number would be. |
| So only 1 in 5 people in the district have common sense, got it. |
| DCUM hysterics (who don't even live in DC) hate democracy and love authoritarianism. Film at 11. |
Stay home if you're scared. |
lol ok. Now do all the red state cities with higher murder rates. Will the NG go there? |
I’ve actually heard the NG complain that people aren’t being friendly enough. Lol. |
Why should people be friendly? Any NG here still mulching knows that they’re not helping crime and that they’re costing taxpayers when they could be with their families. If MAGA cared about crime they would increase MPD’s budget and if they cared about beautification they could rehire the park service people they fired. All would cost less than what we’re paying now. NG here now are complicit. |
MPD's budget has never been the limiting factor here. Its always been political will. Doesn't matter how many cops you have if they can't arrest anyone and keep them off the street. The city gives people 14th, and 17th and 29th chances every day. Federal jurisdiction skips all that nonsense. |
