You are loud and wrong. The student in question is a computer science and economics major. Go look at Sidwell’s 2023 IG page and then come back and apologize. |
Lol—you wish! 🤣 Just be happy you’re not spending money you don’t have on tuition you can’t afford and go. |
https://www.polarislist.com/best-high-schools-in-washington-dc As I said, there have been Zero MIT matriculation from Sidwell. |
I see you’re determined to be willfully ignorant because the facts don’t align with your narrative. This dubious website is wrong, and so are you. Whomever is running that scam website also posted that GDS sent 1 student to Harvard last year (wrong!). I will continue to rely on Sidwell’s SCOIR data and the fact that I personally know the MIT student. You can continue to wallow in your ignorance and envy. |
LOL. The website is wrong but we should believe your made up numbers, which you haven't posted any verifiable link to, right? You could not make this $hit up. |
Not only are you ignorant, you’re also lazy. Go to Sidwell’s c/o 2023 IG page and see for yourself. You can also go to Sidwell’s CCO website to see that between 2021-2024, they sent at least one student to MIT. |
You're not too bright, are you? I'll let you figure it out. |
You’re clearly projecting. Why are you here anyway? You clearly don’t belong on a Sidwell thread because you have zero connection to the school (plus you’re trying to spread lies). Scurry along to the public school board for the Maryland masses. Those are your people. |
DP. Nope. Not true. Looking at top privates in this area - results to top 25 national universities and top 25 small liberal arts beat every single public school. Not even close. |
True. They send more kids to top 25 than the top privates in the area. |
100% wrong. |
The only thing that’s certain in this discussion is that you don’t have the data to support that claim and in fact nobody here does. You only know where students are matriculating and not where they applied, and neither does Bethesda Magazine or the other magazines like it, which have been debunked. In my case, for example, one of my kids turned down a top 15 private university for UVA, and another turned down a top five liberal arts college for a merit award to another highly (but not as highly) ranked school. This happens all the time and especially in Virginia where there’s UVA, W&M and Tech. I am not suggesting that the average Virginia public school graduate gets into the same caliber college as the average Sidwell graduate, because that would be ridiculous. Sidwell selects every student who wants to attend their school. But there are lots of very high achieving kids in Virginia public schools who come from plenty of money, are getting into excellent private colleges, and for financial or other reasons are electing not to attend them. High income families who choose public school educations are generally of a different mindset than families who choose top private schools when it comes to college. They’re both more practical in their cost benefit analysis and feel less peer pressure than the Sidwells of the world to get their kids into the best school they can name drop at a cocktail party. |
DP, but you could actually look at the IG pages from the last several years to see where kids are going, including MIT. |
If you read the article, you will see that Bethesda Magazine lists the number of applications, admitted students, and matriculations at each college/university. |
NP. You seem confused. MIT is listed on Sidwell’s matriculation list for 2021-2024. I’m unclear why you think you or some random aggregation site know better than Sidwell’s own college office. https://www.sidwell.edu/academics/college-counseling/college-matriculation |
