This is very different than Gillion and Bethel Academy.

Webb's twins are officially 7th graders, however I am pretty sure they are older than 12 years old. For some reason, the taller twin made the varsity or JV team.

$35,000 is a lot of money to pay for Daddy ball and a free online public school.

There is another MS coach who is Webb's buddy that has a son at SJA. Again, they brought on people they knew as SJA didn't bring in many other/outside kids from grades 5-8.

Webb has con artist ways, but is also a basketball coach with years of legitimate experience, which is how he gets away with the daddyball.

One of the 8th graders Webb brought in has been ranked number 1 in the country and somewhere within the top ten players in the country for his age group for years. He has always used his basketball connections to surround his twin sons with the best talent he could find and when he can’t find talent the right age, he has cheated and used older kids, and this is something he’s been doing atleast since the twins were 4 years old.

The twins are old enough to be 9th graders but are 7th graders so they should be good playing with 7th grade competition. Their father will make sure the taller one is the point guard and primary ball handler. He will try not to bring in anyone better and if he does, they won’t get much playing time at that position.

Wont surprise me if Webb doesn’t work out over there. If he’s coaching post grad in addition to middle school, he will try to have his middle school sons working out with the post grad team for sure. Will also try to sneak them into any unsanctioned games if he can get away with it. And the tall one will be the point guard on that post grad team.

I heard the taller twin got in during a HS practice session, when one of the HS on court players made a mistake. MS was there watching but instead of Book putting in a HS sub, Webb put in his son. Seems like Khryi would have gotten in before Webb's kid, but maybe Khryi is an actual 8th grader and has not reclassed?

Khyri is the reason Webb’s AAU teams won national championships. He’s the reason Webb got the chance to coach at Takeover. Webbs using that kid. Webb is only worried about the development of his kids. He will probably separate from St James if they stop him from his daddyball tendencies.

Sad that that kid's family is letting him be used by Webb. Notice they glommed on to a great player who doesn't threaten his own kids "point guard" position. What a bunch of coattail riders.

Webb will only get to use him while coaching the middle school team. He doesn’t play for Webb any longer with AAU. The Nike sponsored teams picked this kid up.

Webb took him to Takeover his 6th grade year because Webb to get the open coaching position. The next year Webb was telling people he was going to get the 7th grade coaching job, but the 7th grade coach had been there for years, and he didn’t step aside for Webb to be able to coach and build a team around the twins. So Webb separated from Khyri and some of the other players he coached at Takeover and went to Team Museum.

The guys liar and a con. He got fired from John Champe and was telling people he was getting offered jobs at every private school that had a basketball coaching job open.

None of those schools wanted Webb. They want coaches with integrity. I’m surprised St James took him.

Webb doesn’t own that. He was a partner who some people invested in, but he f’d that up. Mismanaged the funds and that went under, but the guy who bought it is still letting Webb work there, and I’m sure Webb probably stole 2 or 3 machines before he lost the business to train the twins on.

No real names were used and you’d have to be familiar with the people to identify who is being spoken about.

As a non-basketball person, this is HILARIOUS that anyone would be bragging about coaching 7th grade.

The amount of drama over this is something else.

I don't think it is drama as much as informing others to what is going on at SJA. It is a substantial amount of money and families should be aware of how things are being run, and who is running it.

In fairness, what he did is now perfectly legal through college Booster clubs.

It's the same reason why Reggie Bush had his Heisman reinstated...it was stripped for doing something that is now perfectly legal under NCAA rules.

I believe that's how things work in general...if you are jailed for say Marijuana possession in a state and they now make it legal, then they release you from jail, right? Or usually the governor will pardon a bunch of folks that are imprisoned under a law that is overturned.

Actually what he did is still illegal today.

Are you talking about the WCAC schools where 75% or more PF their roster has reclassified twice?

This comment isn't even remotely correct and is barely English. You are clearly just bitter you lack the intelligence to get into a WCAC school.

Gillon trains 4 hours a day and is very serious on the academic side. They even have live teaching days, SJA does not have any of that and they train for less time, but charge more than twice as much.

No decent teacher or parent would consider Gillion (not "Gillon" as you spelled it in that sentence) to be "very serious on the academic side."

Gillon is a joke. Top brass go to Sidwell

WCAC schools are fine but it always shocks me how many people pretend like they are elite academic schools and that anyone who says otherwise is jealous.

Huh? You don’t have to be intelligent to play sports at a WCAC and the WCAC’s are full of reclassed and double reclassed players. Especially in basketball.

I thought WCAC has an upper age limit of 19? It’s possible to be double declassed if you started school early but most kids can only reclass once.
