Has President Musk issued any statements? You'd think he'd be on top of something like this having space companies and comms companies n all. |
Nothing to worry about they say:
![]() https://www.reddit.com/r/Planespotting/comments/1ha8o5o/possible_explanation_for_new_jersey_drone_sighting/ If that is commercial aircraft doing routine mapping, then the FAA and govt should know what the hell they are. But they don't. That entirely looks like a foreign advisary collecting Intel and mapping for who knows what purposes. |

They’d be hard to shoot down with a fighter. They probably don’t have enough of a heat signature for a AIM 9 sidewinder to pick up on, plus, being only a few hundred feet from the ground, and near populated areas, shooting an air to air missile at one is going to cause damage on the ground from the missile even if it makes a direct it. If it misses, it’ll be even worse. A strafing run with the 20mm canon would also be potential disaster on the ground for anything in the path of the strafing run. A better tactic would be an attack helicopter like an Apache, which could track the drone, and if it flies out over the ocean, it could use it’s 30mm gun to shoot it down in a spot where it could be recovered. Or possibly fly near enough to the drone for the rotor wash to force it into the trees/ground. That would be ideal. |
DC Democrats don’t care until the drones come to Potomac and McLean. |
I see this kind of aircraft pattern on a flight radar site when I hear an incessant plane overhead. I assume it's google mapping or maybe developers scoping out my area. |
Isn’t the most likely scenario that some people in our government do know what these are but cannot/will not disclose them to the public? The idea that our enemies are doing this while we watch seems laughable at best? |
You guys are really winding yourselves up. Why not ask Donald Trump to step in and get you some intel. His transition team is already being briefed. |
What are the Republicans doing? They’re not bothered either. |
Yes, it is highly suspicious of mapping flight patterns. But if it was Google or Amazon or something , they wouldn't be disrupting the FAA and flying them over restricted military sites like in VA or NJ. They even saw drones over DC, which should pretty much be entirely restricted. It's a pattern that seems like it is mapping, but it makes no sense to claim it is just some kind of routine commercial stuff. If it were, then the entire state of NJ and its govt wouldn't be contemplating calling a state of emergency, but they are! |
What makes you think it isn’t our drones? Perhaps they’re testing new systems. |
Liar. |
Definitely either government or military. Kirby should just be honest for once. |
How about some receipts? |
January 20th can’t come soon enough. |
