Can we get a district wide residency check of all FCPS high schools?

Try again. The lotteries are for charter schools. For Deal HS and the flagship Jackson-Reed HS, lotteries stopped well over 10 years ago for out-of boundary students. You have to live inside the boundary or attend a feeder that goes to Jackson-Reed. Walls is test-in.

That can happen already if your DC takes Russian. They can transfer to Langley and you would have to provide your own transportation.

The ones that lose the lottery game move to MD or VA.

That is one very specific reason

You just said try again and then said they do have lotteries. Anyways, if any ody is interested, some of the pertinent information is here:

Let's start with James Madison.

The football roster.

And, of course, as usual, pro forma, the professional baseball team roster.

Please take your football trolling to the hayfield thread. We are tired of the hayfield trolls.

History repeats itself

Reminds of when FALLS CHURCH did not want to desegregate their schools

Too many minorities

Somebody above posted the school choice website for DC and I was poking around a bit. Looks like they just did a boundary review, worth taking a look at how they handled it:

https://dcps.dc.gov/page/2023-boundary-and-student-assignment-study

Also, they have some letters and information on there detailing how current students will be grandfathered in to some enrollments, if they choose to.

Pupil placement is a valid form of transfer under FCPS policy, like it or not.

Can FCPS use this grandfathering as a roadmap?

Madison has been recruiting in many sports for decades. Everyone knows it. They just aren’t dumb enough to recruit 31 in one sport.
If FCPS truly wants to stop this they are going to have to employ a lot of resources and effort at every level. I doubt it happens.

You're never going to be able to prove that a handful of kids on each team weren't truly, madly, deeply fascinated by the Latin language. They needed it for their future med school studies, you know? The fact that these students are also awesome pitchers or whatever is just because they are really such dedicated kids (which they probably truly are hardworking kids). There will be no way to prove it.

Articles indicate Overton had this stuff down pat in PWC - there were programs at Freedom he leveraged just like people say Madison coaches do. It's just much harder to do across county lines.

Stip with the football trolling and take it to the Hayfield thread. You have 300 pages to discuss football recruiting.
