Birth rate plummets

When women are educated and have choices, they make better ones.
😁

I think it depends. Wealthy women can have more kids, and some choose to do so, while others don't for whatever reason.

Ivanka Trump has 3 kids.
Melania has 1, probably because her husband is too old to be a dad again to an infant.

I am surprised about birth rates going down. I live in an area with many immigrants and they have 3+ kids, seems like most of them.

Generally, immigrants have more kids, and that's why immigrants are necessary to keep our working population at a certain level. If we only rely on "real" Americans, the working population would decline, which is bad for the economy.

This is partly why forced-birthers want to ban abortion.

How are immigrants able to afford 3+ kids while “real” Americans aren’t?

It’s not about money. It’s about trade offs. More and more adults aren’t willing to sacrifice for kids.

Sure. My rich in laws have 5… and a trust fund. It’s a flex.
I will add that the mom is very pretty, but not the sharpest. Again, when women have choices and education, they make better choices.

The economy and unwillingness to sacrifice luxuries for the benefit of another.

The world does not need more humans. Having a baby is selfish and done to fulfill one's self. You are not making some grand sacrifice for the world, this is about you and yours.

A sacrifice is something that isn't adequately compensated. By definition, you lose more by it than you gain.

Are you saying that having children doesn't come with more blessings than it is worth to do?
If everyone stopped having babies, humans would cease to exist. Seems that is what you want.
Despite your beliefs, having children is a sacrifice. It is also a blessing and an experience so rewarding that those who choose to not have children will never experience.

Okay, so it's a sacrifice, but it's also "a blessing and an experience so rewarding." Sounds like you think this blessing and rewarding experience is a terrific benefit to you overall. Great. Go for it. But that's not a grand sacrifice overall that you are doing to benefit humanity instead of yourself. You just contradicted that.

Oh, please. Any parent who tells you that they did not make sacrifices to have children are just lying or are not very good parents.
And, how do you know that one of the children that I gave birth to and sacrificed for is not the next Einstein or Mother Theresa?
There is no contradiction to saying that having kids is both a sacrifice and a blessing and rewarding experience.
You don't want kids? Fine. Don't have them. But, don't go around criticizing others for wanting the joy of having a family.

Melania has one because she's in a transactional marriage and a child guarantees her place as a wife. I also think she wanted a child and loves/is a good mother to Barron.

Define "blessings".

This. And immigrants are not really able to "afford" it. They use free programs (free lunches, food pantries, Medicaid, free internet, subsidized daycare, etc). If lots of poor Americans have kids we will all be taxed more to pay for these services. Maybe that's okay, but many people are not willing to pay for that. Like the forced birthers for example.

It’s like the opening scene of the movie Idiocracy. Smart couples end up with zero or one kid and tiny family trees, while the couples who are on food stamps and can’t feed themselves end up with lots of kids and huge family trees.

It could be that more and more adults aren't willing to bring children in the world knowing that there is a 99% chance of Donald Trump or Joe Biden being the most powerful person in the world until 2029. There will be a great deal of uncertainty and turmoil in the world over the next 4 to 5 years and possibly longer if we fail to elect a someone with POTUS caliber leadership skills once again in 2028.

Many. Women put off motherhood for college and to get a career established so they’re skewing older, which comes with higher risks.

Leftism is suicidal. It’s just the result of the leftward march. Normal people are checking out as the apocalypse looms.
