Bullshit. Bottom shelf vodka tastes like rubbing alcohol.

Not PP but how do you know what rubbing alcohol tastes like

You don’t have rubbing alcohol in your bathroom? Go take a whiff of it. Then go order a well vodka at a local bar or restaurant. Same smell. Premium top shelf vodka is of course a ripoff but to claim it’s the exact same as well vodka is low IQ.

See above.
There is some nuance, but it’s certainly not a ‘low iq’ position. rather it is low iq to assert certain facts without doing due diligence

It is low IQ to pretend nobody’s tongue (and/or body via hangover) can tell the difference between premium vodka and hobo well vodka. What’s next, you’re going to pretend two buck chuck is 99% as good as an expensive Burgundy. Give it a rest.

Are you one of those tiresome DBs who likes to blather on about how your "palate changes" when exposed to expensive [wine or spirits]? No one care MF'er and you just come off as a pretentious twat.

A lot of wine snobbery is bs too.

Essentially just two shots of chilled vodka served up in a pretty glass. It’s okay for girlies to guzzle those but a man ordering a double Grey Goose on the rocks is uncouth? lol

A martini is made with gin, Cletus.

+1

Didn’t think this thread could get any stupider after the OP, but then we get a “martini is made with Grey Goose” guy. Sigh.

This is my go to drink and I can afford anything. Let me enlighten you, I'm gluten intolerant and Tito's with soda is pretty much the only drink I can order when I am out that does not have negative affect on my health. Ignorant and snobbish people like yourself need to cease to exist. I say that sincerely. I hope this guy sees your post and runs for the hills. Such a high maintenance b h.

Vodka, by definition, has less variance across brands than pretty much any other spirit. But it 1000% is not the “EXACT same” from one brand to the next. That’s just a stupid take.

Also Mr. Advertising PP is just re-doing the Mad Men scene where Draper talks to the Lucky Strike guys. Yes, cigarettes are all made essentially the same way. He figures out you just market one aspect of an identical process. That doesn’t mean the end product tastes the same.

Weird comment on a totally normal drink. Is it the lemon wedge? A lemon wedge screams gay to you? (I say this because we all know what "feminine" means."

Vodka on the rocks is far more masculine than vodka soda plus a lemon wedge. And also, Grey Goose means you’re not an unsophisticated miser who wants bargain brand Tito’s. Grey Goose on the rocks is a perfectly acceptable drink order for a masculine man.

Other people can judge, too. And my judgment is that in my experience, vodka is what alcoholics prefer. So that’s what I’d be thinking about your “masculine man.” That in 20 years he’ll have a nose like a raspberry and a shaky hand.

My judgement is that in 20 years you will be single, bitter, and obese owning 5 cats in your cat urine stench 1 bedroom apartment.

This response is so on point. Thank you for writing it.

I do have rubbing alcohol in my bathroom, but I don’t drink it. Getting “taste” confused with “smell” is probably the lower IQ position here.

if i was on a date and a man ordered vodka on the rocks i'd think that was beyond weird. who likes vodka on the rocks? that's not a good drink.
any straight alcohol as your first, first date drink is odd imo. vodka soda is normal. anyone with any intelligence knows type of vodka is irrelevant so the fact that he specified makes me think he is young and doesn't yet know that.
he should run a MILE away from op who is clearly an insufferable snob but not about the right things.

I usually order whiskey neat. Sometimes Scotch, sometimes Bourbon , sometimes Rye. Maybe Oban, Macallan, Angel's Envy, Woodford, Michters, or Templeton. Or maybe an old fashioned. (margarita or neat mezcal if at a Mexican restaurant).

Kettle One and soda with a twist of lime was my go to drink back in the day.

I always specified the type of vodka because if you didn’t you were served rail vodka which depending on venue might be gut rot Skol or Aristocrat.

Maybe your date isn’t into gut rot.

It’s low iq to read categorical facts as reported by multiple sources, decide they don’t correlate with what was already in your head and thus accuse the source of fallacy. Like when boomer parents argue with the gps
