People are not paying attention. This thing keeps getting resurrected despite being quashed by local groups. Comstock developers are insidious. There is also Saudi money involved, I believe.

It’s so creepy that this keeps coming back. No one wants it in Tysons. If people in other parts of the county want it, put it there.

Here is an interesting article (sorry if it behind a paywall) in the Atlantic Magazine on the mistake of legalizing gambling.

OMG. Union workers are no backing the casino in Tysons. Gird your loins, people!

So no one cares anymore about a casino in Tysons? Are we really going to let them slide something through while distracted by the federal elections?

Federal elections are in 3 weeks. Nothing is going to happen on the casino in 3 weeks.

I don’t get it. Do they think it will help fund schools?

The unions supporting this don’t care about Tyson’s or the people who live in it. They just want the construction jobs. Construction of the casino complex will create hundreds if not thousands of construction jobs for 3-4 years. Then they will be gone. The construction workers will go elsewhere, leaving everyone who lives snd works with a steaming pile of %&^#$.

Casino with a metro stop is going to make so much money.

It is just like many politicians. They will be gone and leave us with that steaming pile. The chaos needs to stop. Terrible.

This will not benefit Tyson’s. It will destroy what is left of the existing commercial tax base. No Fortune 500 company will tolerate being near a casino. They bring crime, drugs and dysfunction.

Casinos make most of their money from gambling addicts. It is very sad and the industry is sleazy. This does not benefit Fairfax and it will bring substantial harm to the county. https://ctmirror.org/2024/02/13/ct-sports-betting-problem-gambling/

I have no respect now for David Marsden (State Senate). He was a featured guest and speaker at our neighborhood Dem meeting. He never mentioned the casino at all. He was suppose to be there to keep us updated on local issues. He had a responsibility to mention what is going on in Northern Virginia. That's why we invited him - learn what issues are out there.

Get all of your neighbors to email him, call him, leave complaints. Tell him he is betraying his community and voters.

Is there a working group for this issue?
