Is this the "functioning" House of Representatives?

Narrator: you’ve BEEN TELLING US that you have no interest in passing bills that address the problems that America faces

Congress needs to get their sh*t together and start coming up with solutions for Americans. We have real problems. This is retirement and elder care… it’s a nightmare! Much like daycare in the US, a broken market:

And going to get much, much worse.

We get the Congress that voters voted for. Too bad those in Florida and NYC saw fit to elect Republicans instead of keeping the House blue. It doesn't matter if they're moderates. They'll never cross the lines to vote with Democrats to actually try to solve problems or compromise. The best we can hope for is to not default on the debt ceiling and continually pass continuing resolutions to keep the government open for a few months as a time.

When you say "Congress" you really mean Republicans, right? Because the Democrats aren't the ones shutting down government or suspending regular order to have meaningful/substantive hearings to use expert testimony to craft actual legislation.

How does eldercare get fixed? People working with the elderly are already some of the lowest paid workers in the country. The amount of money flowing from the federal government to the elderly is already the majority of the federal budget. What is the federal fix?

The dissatisfaction with governing continues.

“Speaker Johnson is on a collision course with his right flank.

Some are fuming about some of his recent policy decisions. Rep. Roy said his performance rating among Rs was “plummeting” and Rep. Miller said his 180 flip on issues was “disgusting”

Miller went as far as to predict that Johnson, who was elected unanimously by House Republicans last month, wouldn’t get the votes to be speaker if the GOP voted again this week.

“He would probably lose 60 to 80, and you can take that to the bank,” Miller said.”

DO IT, PLEASE!

I mean, I still don't even understand what the potential charges of high crimes would be here.

The house republicans don't either

Any update on the funding bills the house was supposed to be hard at work passing by the Jan 19 deadline? The ones that it was so important they take their time with to do it right instead of rushing at the last minute- whatever happened with that

They haven't done anything and are about to take the next 3 weeks off, after having also taken most of September and October off as well.

Hard at work on the taxpayer dime.
