She needed the sympathy and a sob story, especially since Brad’s people successfully did the whole poor Brad Jenn didn’t give him children so he had to move on and have an affair and drink and do drugs for decades and get drunk and belligerent in front of his kids.

They all played the game and we fall for it. Justin and Jen never even lived on the same coast together much less went through IVF together.

I definitely think that flipped her script and people were not saying poor Jen anymore. We will never know how hard she tried or how much she wanted kids… my sense is that she really did try with Brad but after that chapter closed, she was 35 and I think she was fine with not having kids and she certainly wasn’t seeking out men who wanted to have babies with her. I don’t blame her for lying about it.

The public doesn’t do well with nuance and if she ever came out and said I tried with Brad, but once that chapter was closed, I moved on. I just don’t think she would’ve had the career that she had. She’s Americas sweetheart, she’s not someone like Sarah Silverman or Chelsea Handler who say they don’t want kids and no one cares. People would just turn around and say she probably didn’t ever want to be a mom so of course Brad left her for Angelina and 100 babies.

I don’t blame her for wanting to write her own script and not forever be the woman that didn’t give Brad Pitt babies.
