No, he didn't.
He said he would go after the cartels using the military. I agree with him.
And, the cartels are within our own country. Do you not know this?

I do know that, tyvm, but he said he would send our military "into Mexico." Pretty sure sure their President is not on board with that approach.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a president who got a little tough with the president of Mexico and presented an ultimatum?
If they are not going to prevent the cartels from operating on THEIR borders, then we need to take action.
Our current geriatric oval office resident has done ZERO to work with the Mexican president to stop the flow of migrants and drugs and hold them accountable.

False.

That was 5 months ago, How's it going?
Not well judging from the amount of fentanyl that is still coming into our country and the number of people dying of fentanyl poisoning.

Do you not know what “seizing” means?

Do you understand that the amount they seize is a FRACTION of what is coming across?

Narrator: They do not understand this.

Yes and Biden has been getting a bigger fraction than Trump. Thanks for playing.

You are painfully slow. It's been explained to you by other PPs that the reason for that is because illegal immigration has EXPLODED under Biden. More illegal immigrants = more seizures. School must have been really hard for you.

Trump did nothing about illegal immigration.

Do you understand that the Biden DHS is seizing more than the Trump DHS? This is a good thing. That doesn't mean there isn't a problem, but defunding DHS and forcing a government shut down is the opposite of solving the problem, but people like you like to ignore that.

Do you understand they have seized more because the amount coming in has exploded under Biden?
There is a $hit ton more to get.

BS. Drugs have always flowed freely across the borders , going as far back as the Reagan administration. You can thank Reagan for that. Fentanyl was a huge problem for Trump and will be a huge problem for whoever’s the president in 2025. It didn’t just become a huge problem under Biden.

DP. I bet 99% of Mexicans would absolutely support our military intervention to put an end to the cartels.

Sure, you must be one of those who thought Iraqis would welcome US troops with flowers……

If the US is sincere about slowing border crossing, sanctions must be lifted off Venezuela and Cuba. The only thing the sanctions have accomplished is a destitute government that cannot properly take care of and govern a destitute population. Destitution leads to desperation. These will continue to come until there is something for them in their own lands. It’s human nature. It’s why the Irish, Germans, Italians, English and others got on ships snd crossed rocky waters to the USA. Same reasons different travel modes.

Meanwhile, DEMOCRAT Cuellar is, TONIGHT, on the floor of the House debating the DHS bill fighting for more funding for enforcement at the ports of entry where all of this fentanyl is actually coming in, only to be shot down by REPUBLICANS.

Republicans don't really care about fentanyl. They only care about brown people and throw terms like "fentanyl" out there as a deflection.

We'll wait while you provide a link.

Turn on C-Span, man.

My God, the gaslighting is so tiresome.

Over the past two and a half years, Border Patrol has recorded unprecedented levels of migrant apprehensions, including 2.2 million in fiscal year 2022, a tally that is on track to being matched in fiscal year 2023, which ends at the end of this month.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/border-crossings-migrants-us-mexico-biden-strategy/

During President Biden’s time in office, the number of illegal crossings has reached notable highs, exceeding levels seen during a prepandemic influx in 2019 during the Trump administration.

The seizure of drugs has nothing to do with the migrants. Most of the drugs are coming through on shipments of other things and mules, many of whom are U.S. citizens. And if you want to talk about migrants, go look at Trump's policies and how they put more pressure on the system. The immigration system was already broken before Biden got into office. This is a long standing problem and the GOP like to complain about it, but they don't actually want to do anything about it. Endless BS from them, lies about "open borders" etc. And dummies like you just repeat it like broken recordings.

https://truthout.org/articles/republicans-are-lying-about-fentanyl-to-scare-voters/

Never mind that drug overdose deaths actually began rising under the Trump administration’s policies before shattering records once COVID hit, or that medical experts and nonpartisan fact-checkers routinely debunk GOP narratives portraying an increase in fentanyl seizures by law enforcement as evidence of an “open border.”

By wrongly conflating asylum seekers and President Joe Biden’s border policies with overdose deaths, Republicans hope to continue hammering Democrats as “soft” on “crime” and immigration (if only!) while whipping up fear among voters and anger in their nativist base. The GOP’s major attack lines ahead of the midterms are “open borders,” “fentanyl” and “invasion,” and they are grounding those attacks in lies and disinformation, according to a national analysis of digital ads and campaigns published by America’s Voice, an immigration reform group.

In reality, most migrants attempting to cross border are seeking asylum after fleeing violence and poverty, and certainly aren’t smuggling fentanyl in their backpacks. Plenty of statements and data from federal law enforcement show that fentanyl most commonly enters the U.S. in trucks and passenger vehicles at legal ports of entry, and a majority of those transporting fentanyl are U.S. citizens, who are less likely to draw the attention of border police. By scapegoating migrants as a source of drugs, demagogues obscure the facts with a cloud of xenophobia.

Who is actually bringing in the drugs?

https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdwa/pr/drug-ring-tied-aryan-prison-gang-indicted-24-federal-arrests

Twenty-seven people were indicted by a grand jury for drug trafficking, and many of those in the indictment are tied to the “Aryan Family,” a white supremacist prison gang, announced U.S. Attorney Nick Brown. Twenty-four of the defendants have been arrested over the last five days in Washington and Arizona.

Before last week’s takedown, during the year that the ring was under investigation, law enforcement seized 830,000 fentanyl pills, 5.5 pounds of fentanyl powder, 223 pounds of methamphetamine, 3.5 pounds of heroin, 5 pounds of cocaine, $388,000 in cash, and 48 firearms.

Hilarious that they clearly aren't watching the House budget debates and all of the ugly truths about the border coming out there, like the flood gates that have to get opened due to the siting and design of Trump's wall, allowing immigrants to come in freely. Or that it's costing us $36m per mile of wall only to be defeated by ladders or cordless angle grinders costing less than $100. But they still cling to their "build the wall" mythology

Iowa is in January. Guessing after that only DeSantis and Haley will be left standing as challengers to Trump. Scott and Pence were very unimpressive in this debate. Think they're done. Christie will never get any traction in this Republican party.

Trumpworld is so bizarre and volatile that it's hard to make any kind of predictions. It could implode at any time. Or it's already settled and republicans continue to march behind their cult leader. But after Iowa, Republican opposition will start to consolidate behind Haley or DeSantis. NH and then South Carolina would presumably go well for Haley. It's possible she gets some momentum. And if she becomes the nominee, she would defeat Biden.

Anonymous

Agree, and Scott was a nonentity in the last one as well. Haley was impressive in both, and DeSantis was much better than last time. I don’t think Ramaswamy made as much of an impression as last time and the novelty is wearing off.
