With Bloomberg’s donations, they don’t need your money.

They are going to fall in the ranks when merit is no longer the standard, just like Thomas Jefferson HS.

How can someone finish a school like Hopkins and still believe that their donations even move the needle? Bloomberg dumped nearly $2 billion. He calls the shots now. You mad?

For the decline in what they are churning out? Talking to professors who say the past 5 years the students coming in are less and less prepared for the work.

I think the article is slightly off, 21 percent Caucasian for class of 2026 per Hopkins website. The Asian enrollment is 26 percent. International, which is likely mostly a combination of those two groups, is 14 percent.

That is still unproportionable/very low/not representative of US population statistics.

Welcome to most top privates. significant amounts of student bodies upwards of 30%+ are asian at most if not all the ivies and top privates. Is that discrimination against others? No

I was also an undergrad at Hopkins and think this is bs. Tests were administered the same place as where classes took place.

There were definitely kids who did this, especially with regards to exam times. Class of '96 here. Some kids were ruthless.

I really hope the culture has changed but I have a hard time believing that the pre-meds of Hopkins are kinder or more laid-back in 2023.

i’m glad alumni have gotten smarter after 27 years. They let in some dumb ones in the 90s as you see above and with lower test scores compared to peer schools back then.

IMO, a descendant of a German (esp. Nazi) living in Argentina, claiming "Hispanic" is the irony of all ironies.


A blonde/blue eyed Argentinian does not face the kind of racism in this country that a brown skinned Hispanic, Black or even Asian person would.

In terms of education, historically, the URM of Hispanics were the brown skinned Latinos, not Germanic "Hispanics". It is cheating, but then, these universities are playing dumb games with race, so why not play that dumb game to your advantage.
