| California. Boom! |
Less than 1% in America. 30% of women. But sure he’s not writing about women. |
| I’m old enough to remember when the Virginia workin’ man had a good senator in James Webb-D. |
Not in America. But sure let’s say it’s 10% You think he’s writing about men? |
You are a fool that never studied warfare. You think having the Gulf of Mexico and the Mississippi River security compromised is some punch line? |
He said nothing about women. That is YOUR stereotyping. And, he is not complaining about the poor. He is complaining about the ridiculous government programs that perpetuate obesity and poor health by providing funding that allows these people to purchase junk - yes JUNK food with taxpayer funding. I am getting the distinct feeling that you are more upset about the people who can relate to this song than the songwriter himself. |
This is a battle between the have and have nots...not sure it's specifically D vs. R If the song is meant to be a political song, then the guy is a moron because wealthy people will always side with their money/security over party affiliation. |
I believe those retirees have good income to spend in Florida, or did you not pay them enough? |
Tell me you've never known Asian/Hispanic men without telling me you've never known Asian/Hispanic men. |
He is writing about obese people using their food stamps to purchase junk food that makes them more obese. Do you not get that? Do you not understand that he is slamming government programs that actually encourages this by putting few restrictions on the kind of food they can purchase? |
I don’t actually care about the guy or the lyrics, I’m just amazed people are pretending he’s not targeting the absolute usual suspects— women and the poor. He doesn’t say “we should change our food stamps policy to encourage healthier food the way we do with WIC” He says if you’re obese and a size that mostly refers to women— taxpayers shouldn’t pay. If you’re skinny and male fudge rounds for everyone right? |
They live in America? still captured in the statistics. |
+1000. |
He says nothing about change to government programs. He talks about obese people on food stamps. How many of his ardent fans absolutely hated Michelle Obama’s efforts to make school lunches healthier? Bloomberg’s suggestion to tax sodas? |
I've never known a 5'3" Hispanic or Asian man who weighed 300 pounds, most work too hard. This song writer is definitely talking about white women and black women, as someone who is a white woman from "south of Richmond" approximately 5'3" and 300 pines describes about half my hometown female friends. It's amazing what low income, bad food choices, and stress eating will to you. |
