Why is that?

LACK OF GUN CONTROL

Let’s agree to get on it. No more deaths by guns.

Gun control is what it is for now. The reason for rising crime rates -- at least one of them -- is that we have elected prosecutors who refuse to prosecute.

How does this apply to the situation at hand? People who shoot up schools, churches, supermarkets, concert venues, and other public places usually don't have a criminal record. What they do have is perhaps some mental illness coupled with easy access to guns, particularly assault-style ones.

Just stop.

Such a hateful statement.
Thankfully, the shooter is dead. Pray for the children and the families.

OP here. I am a mother of two elementary school students and I am fed up with "thoughts and prayers" and no action every time I see another school shooting.

So unless you have something more productive to offer than "pray" (FYI, I'm an atheist, so no, I won't), you stop please. Stop and offer potential solutions that aren't prayers and more doors.

So are you going to allow citizens to protect the schools with guns? Or are you gonna hope and pray that guns magically disappear from this world?

No, we are going to confiscate your guns. By any means necessary.

Who is "we?" Would you confiscate the guns by gunpoint?

All laws are ultimately enforced by people with guns.

Civil War I fought by you a-holes over the right to keep slaves
Civil War II fought by you a-holes over the right to shoot children in their schools

You people are truly the worst.

I know. We VOTE to settle our differences. What a crazy woke concept.

Gun owners routinely pledge to murder police officers who might enforce laws restricting gun ownership.

You buy back the guns. It is not some ridiculous forced confiscation. Other countries have done it the world continues to spin.

Oh don't you worry, I am quite mad about that too. I can walk and chew gum and be mad about the lack of gun control everywhere.

(especially when I can hear gunshots from my home not too infrequently)

Then clean your own house first. Why are you worried about what's happening somewhere else when your own place is a disaster?

Because it's everywhere? Because I've had to hide under a desk due to a real active shooter scare at my workplace... because I have had to comfort a friend who actually knew one of the kids at Sandy Hook and attended their funeral? Because my family member shopped occasionally at the Buffalo grocery store from the shooting last June as it was near the hospital where they work as a physician.

Try offering something useful, perhaps?

Majority of Americans want more gun regulation. But politicians answer to business lobbyists, not constituents

You think the side that doesn't have guns will win this "civil war?"

There will no civil war for you to keep your precious guns. Assault weapons were banned for a decade and the USA is still here so if we can ever get that passesd again, you will be just fine. Relax.

I don't own any guns. Never have. Have no desire to ever own one.

Well no civil war for you either then.

Yup, I’d sign up.

Where is Joe during all this? Is he in hiding?

Faux News bobble head just said it’s because “SIDE DOORS”. If we could just control those now going forward, we could prevent this type of thing from happening in the future. SIDE DOORS.

Look, the wolf maulings aren't a function of the millions of wolves we have released into the forest. That's ridiculous. You're simply trying to mock our decision to flood the country with wolves. We simply haven't planted enough trees. If there were more trees, the wolves would have to work slightly harder to get to the foot paths.

We should release a lot of good wolves.

They answer to voters if the voters pay attention. I know that is a tall order but after George Santos maybe voters can take a little more interest.

14 minutes between first call and the police shooting the shooter. That’s so long.

So lucky there were not more casualties. Shooter likely stopped herself.

Wow. There's some 13-year-old logic there. If there's a civil war it won't be between whatever delusional ideas you have of based MAGAs armed with AR-15s vs woke liberals armed with books and feelings. It will be Bradleys and Apache gunships and other things that will make that little AR-15 you cling to much less relevant.

The only way to force conservative legislators to take action is to be forced there by their own constituents. This tragedy just might provide that opportunity for real change.

This happened in TN, the land where the great Dolly Parton is a saint—as well as a deep pocket machine who drives change. While she has strategically avoided taking sides when it comes to politics, I’m hoping that she just might decide she no longer needs to tread lightly and instead launches the mutiny we desperately need when it comes to gun control, safe storage, and commonsense measures that even many gun owners support.

Can we draft her to take action? Could this be her true legacy?

Geezus, we should summon Dolly? That’ll do it for sure👍🏼

Power and money are the only way to get republicans legislators to enact gun control measures.

If you have a better idea, please tell us.

If you don’t think she has the power to bankroll legislators and a massive messaging campaign with K Street lobbyists working behind the scenes, you underestimate her. Bigly.

If legions of conservative women protest, something could change.
