Lies. Violent offenders are locked up whenever possible in MoCo. This is just tired old trolling against MoCo.

Well DCs teens certainly think nothing ever happens to them, and I would not be surprised if DC teens end up being the perps in the recent rash of carjackings. The November attempted carjacking at the Safeway involved at least 1 DC teen, and the November incident that ended with the crash into a Metrobus also involved 2 DC teens.

Every reported carjacking in Montgomery County that I am aware of included statements like, “car last seen heading in direction of DC”, “vehicle was was caught by speed camera in SE DC two hours later”, “vehicle recovered in the Capital Heights neighborhood of DC”, etc.

They trained themselves throughout COVID in DC to perfect the craft and are now branching out to new territories like an enterprise with a successful business model.

I’m not quite sure what you are trying to say. DC criminals have a business model of carjacking in MoCo?

Of course they do.

You go where targets are the softest and consequences will be minimal, if caught. DC to MoCo is that best corridor for consequence free crime die to their progressive criminal justice reform.

The trend I have noticed is that some area PDs are a lot better at catching carjackers than others, which I think explains a lot about the geography of carjackings in the area. Police forces I saw in the news that caught carjackers this week: Secret Service, PGPD, FCPD (they balled out with a PIT maneuver on the highway) and even Howard U PD. Not a single Montgomery County carjacker was caught by MCPD and the only MPD arrests were in assisting these other police forces. So what do the criminals learn? Don’t carjack in VA. Better watch out in PG County because they will not stop pursuing. Be careful about where you do it in DC. You can always get away with it in MoCo.

Umm, sure, interesting theory. I think it really just depends on the week, but the moco police are good, there just aren't enough of them.

Sure, but that’s not because of MCPD. They are restricted by a county council and county executive that don’t want them to proactively pursue crimes. The PP had it right. Montgomery County’s policies toward crime make the county an easy target.

We’ve found the obnoxious too online Silver Spring head in sand progressive. Do you think this crime is NBD? You may want to talk your fellow liberal Silver Spring and Takoma Park friends. I think you will find out that their progressive values end the moment these things begin to affect them personally. It’s one thing if it’s 20-something males shooting each other at 2 AM on Georgia Ave. It’s quite another when its middle aged women having a guns shoved in their face at 7 PM trying to shop at Safeway.

You may not be aware, but the neighborhood is starting to get a reputation for crime and you may not be able to understand this, but it is not a good thing.

Do you live in Silver Spring? If not, why do you care?

NP. Is it a pre-requisite to live in a specific place to care about people in that place? What an impoverished view of the world, that people can only care about the well being of their immediate neighbors.

I wonder how all of the ban cars/end traffic violence but defund the police white SS progressives are handling this? Probably just try to pretend it never happened is my guess.

Yup and get ready for more restrictions. Jawando and Mink will exploit Memphis to ensure traffic enforcement drops even further

Nope. But my cynical view of the world is well aware that people who don’t live in a particular place and who don’t hold a particular set of — often political— beliefs somehow derive satisfaction from denigrating those places, groups of people, and beliefs that they themselves are not identified with. It’s not usually about “caring about the well-being of their immediate neighbors “ either, as you probably are well aware. NP.

What situations does cynicism apply or not apply? Concerns about:
- Genocide around the world?
- Violence against LGBT community around the country?
- Police violence against Black people around the country?
- Refugees and economic migrants in the U.S. and around the world?
- Health of favorite stars/famous people/politicians?
- Child hunger around the country?
- Drug addiction and overdoes?
- Mass shoutings in schools across the country?
- Violence and crime in our communities?

Your cynical view is that someone who cares about any of these things in communities they don’t live in is only because they want to denigrate them? That’s obviously crazy.

What kind of world is it where County Councilmembers will publicly condemn Russian aggression in Ukraine but refuse to even acknowledge these crimes that are deteriorating the quality of life in our community? It’s like a sick joke.

It must be frustrating when every candidate you support loses every election by a lot, and the only thing left to you is complaining unceasingly on anonymous internet message boards and various social media platforms like NextDoor.

You assume the PP is a Republican? Are Democrats in the county not allowed to be concerned about crime? I would suggest that you are the one that is way out of step.

What does that have to do about crime? Plenty of Democrats in the county are concerned about crime except the most brain damaged TPSS activists.
