| DS played baseball since t-ball. Played in school and league teams all through elementary/middle school including making competitive school team in middle school. Decided not to even train/try out this year due to his late bloomer size vs. other boys on the team and his concern about lack of play time vs. bench time. He loved baseball and it makes me sad for him but I supported his decision (he did have to replace with something else). |
This is the way my DS is leaning as well (currently in 8th grade) and also a late bloomer. I think he will switch from baseball to track next year in high school. |

I have seen short kids play very well and better than others. They always get picked by their skills not by their size. And sometimes popularity too.
Heightism-there is such thing. Same like any other traits (attractive/less attractive, older vs younger, faster than others, etc). When you seen as less of something, you have do do more, talk louder and make a louder impression if you want to be noticed. Same with being short. |
