But "picky eating" is caused by shitty parenting 99% of the time.

Have you heard of ARFID? I'm not a shitty parent, I literally need professionals to help my kid eat. Must be nice to be you, head in the sand.

I am not a shitty parent but my child with ARFID thinks the food I prepare or offer her are "gross." When either of her grandmothers visit, she eats anything they give her -- from store cookies, to peanut butter sandwiches, to a fully cooked meal. She stays with one grandmother for several weeks i the summer and during school breaks so that she can gain weight. The minute she returns home the ARFID begins. No psychologist or psychiatrist has been able to determine why this occurs.

I'm not saying you are a bad parent. But it sounds like it's something in the home environment that is making her not want to eat. Are you super pushy with food? Anxious about her eating? I found myself flipping out internally when my kids wouldn't eat well- and I noticed if I wasn't relaxed about it then the problem would get worse.

Is she old enough to make her own food? Even PB&J? Maybe make her fully in control of what she eats and when. My 9 year old can cook soup, make scrambled eggs and his own sandwiches. I would fully stop cooking for her and let her be in control.

Counterpoint - filet is steak for people who really don't like steak.

NP Enjoy your flank and skirt. Leave me to my 8 oz filet.

Maybe it's air freshener? I honestly don't know how anyone eats with air freshener in their environment. Or after wiping kitchen counters with Clorox Wipes. Smells nauseating.

Salad leaves are for rabbits.

My grandmother lived through a famine, and all they had to eat was grass. She never served a salad and died in her 90s.

Has anyone talked about garlic? JARRED GARLIC IS FINE. I hate cutting garlic. Jarred garlic is way better than no garlic!

Jarred garlic doesn't taste like garlic.

My controversial opinion:

Most white American moms are lazy and feed their kids junk for dinners at home, like frozen crap or spaghettios, and don't cook or rarely cook real food.
