Another gunman, another elementary school

by that logic the following should be outlawed

Driving, Taking a bath, swimming pools etc

we aren't talking about just school shootings.

Go stroke your gun and get off.

Abbott et al will blame immigration. Just watch.

Maybe we need to prevent these psychos from even being free in the society instead of just turning our heads away. I’m sure there were red flags all over and school counselors, teachers and parents just ignored it. Any kind of thread should be immediately reported and and police should investigate, these individuals should not be able to purchase or have guns around them. Schools should not be so easily accessible either. All you need to say picking up a child and you can waltz into the school? That’s another problem. Let’s stop pretending that gun control will magically solve this.

States with the most gun ownership have the most gun deaths.

Because Europe is the safest place to be right now…

This post tells me you have zero idea what goes on in schools.

Talk about false equivalencies.

Don't scream. Vote intelligently. For politicians who believe in gun control.

And you don't think someone responding like that already is? Come on. Unhelpful.

...While states with gun control-related laws have fewer gun deaths.

Abolish the 2nd amendment and we won’t need new laws.
And we pounce because there is no excuse for children to be murdered in their classrooms. Ever.

You know he broke many laws doing this right? Putting more on the books for him to ignore would not have changed the outcome.....

It is about changing the narrative and the attitudes toward guns. There should be a stigma to them.

Yes. This. I can’t wait until gun fetishism is viewed as low class and gross and smoking cigarettes. Tobacco use has dropped dramatically in the past few decades. It’s time to stop glorifying guns as some cool item to own. No more mass collections and posting selfies with firearms on social media.

Any gun ownership outside of law enforcement, and registered/insured handguns for self protection or a rifle for hunting, should be looked down on. Each bullet sold should be tracked with limitations the same as we do now for pain medication and ingredients that can be made into meth. Better yet, include a serial number on each bullet and you are strictly liable (criminally and financially) for any crime committed with that bullet. Gun ownership needs to be treated like the HUGE responsibility it is.

And I’ll criticize liberals as well. No more restorative justice BS for gun crimes. An acquaintance of mine was shot and killed 2 years ago by a criminal with a prior history of gun charges just a few years earlier. It should be one strike and you’re out for a very long time. Use a gun in a crime and face a 20 year minimum sentence.

White men and guns just don’t go together… yet we fear the black man walking on the other side of the street with a hoodie on…

When I was 17-19 and had graduated from HS, every time a certain friend and I hung out, we'd go infiltrate a random high school. We were able to waltz right in like we owned the place every time. We'd walk in, find the name of some random teacher, and then wander around. If anyone asked who we were there to see, we'd mention that teacher's name. If they asked if we checked in at the main office we'd say yes, the "older lady with the glasses checked us in" because there's always an old lady with glasses. At the time, we thought it was funny and pathetic. We were harmless. We were just hanging out having fun. But we never had a problem getting in.

As an adult, I am a friend's emergency contact for her kid in a different state than where the above took place. I've waltzed right in to her elementary, middle and high schools without ever being stopped. School security is a joke.
