I'm not the person you're asking but wouldn't this fall under the person's explanation of "under the same header." Various orchestra is all ubder fine arts music at our HS so I would assume if you took 2 different types of orchestra it would count but I don't know for sure. |
| So trying to figure this out with my kid. Would sequencing in choir count? What if it doesn’t specify choir 1 and 2? How does a kid fulfill this if they take a language and music all 4 years? |
it's not the same chorus all 4 years, right?? so that works. it doesn't have to say 1 and 2. |
| Updated to say my kid moved up from one group in orchestra to the next so that counts as sequential. |
No not same. |
Some kids stay in same choir/band or don’t do all 4 years. |
| How do band and choir play into this? |
You can stay in the same orchestra and it still counts as sequenctial. The thinking is that you grew in your skills. Maybe you were 8th chair and then 5th and then 2nd so you played the harder parts and grew your skills |
| Leadership 1 and 2 |
Yes if you take lang beyond required courses to graduate. So you can count them but you can't double count them. |
You need to ask your kid's school. I was told that certain electives taken again could count as sequential even if not marked 1 and 2 if designated by the school. |
It does count if it's taken beyond what's required. You can't double count it though. But you should check with your kid's school instead of DCUM. |

Looking forward to coming back here to read about economic and personal finance again
Do we have to take the wise exam? We took self directed but now there’s a wise exam? What’s a cte credential exam? Did my kid do that? My counselor said no but the transcript says yes but As always I remain ever vigilantly here for epf graduation requirement explanations for you all Folks the counselors rarely fully grasp it trust me half the time they were asking me the former epf teacher the other half the counselors were pretending to have a clue |
You can also get the Standard Diploma, which works just as well as the Advanced. Since there are no language requirements for Standard then you can count 1 and 2. The exception to this, I believe, is if your kid is at TJ. I don't think they let kids get a standard there. |
