Pp beat me to posting this one

| One more thing about posting images — I could never get it to work, until someone pointed out that, if you are using a phone or iPad, after you click the [img] the second time, you need to go back and remove the extra space after the first [img]. |
+1 It didn’t fit. Aaaagh. |
Certainly iconic but not “beautiful” IMO.
Similar to the JLo dress
|
Isn’t that Naomi Watts? |
|
I have always loved Ingrid Bergman’s ball gowns in Indiscreet.
And Audrey Hepburn’s red gown in Funny Face. And I am failing at finding good photos of anything. |

I came here to post this one, but I see someone beat me to it. Just perfect. |
I’m dying to just pull up on those straps an inch or so. It looks the full skirt is too heavy and it’s tugging in those little spaghetti straps. |
I have a friend who worked at a photo lab (remember those?) in NYC where Benjamin Bratt was a frequent customer. He brought in a roll of film to develop from that Oscar night and the staff was gawking at all the candid shots of Julia just hanging around in this dress before the ceremony. |

Stunning. How does one wear this? |
I agree. Several of the most beautiful dresses I can remember were worn by Lupita. |
You need a fitted blouse on top, and a drawstring skirt slip to wear underneath. The sari is just one long piece of fabric, 6 yards long. It's wrapped around once, folded into pleats to allow you to room, and finally goes up over your left shoulder. That's just the most common way to drape though, there are several styles that vary by region. |
