I know McAuliffe sent his kids to private school. But I'm curious about private equity titan Youngkin -- did he do the same? His children all look to be adults now.

I think this is germane because he's behaving like he's one of us with kids in public schools or those who teach in schools. I bet he actually has zero experience with public schools at all.

It's really funny how they think McAuliffe made a gaffe with his comment that parents shouldn't tell schools what to teach, though. What a miscalculation.

One of McAuliffe’s kids went to Langley. Youngkin sent his to Georgetown Prep.

See, has anyone asked him if he told Georgetown Prep what to teach?

I wonder where they went to elementary school.

I don't know did McAuliffe tell Potomac school how to teach or Gonzaga? I think that Youngkin is saying that parents should understand what their children are being taught. Different when it is funded by tax payer dollars than a private school that is not.

Good news for you. VDOE has the curriculum all documented online:
https://www.doe.virginia.gov/testing/sol/standards_docs/

Now you don't need to vote for a Trumphumper over a non-issue.

I don't know who is Trumphumper, there were only two candidates when I voted last week - Younking and McAuliffe.

If you had actually voted last week, you would have seen three candidates, not two.

Youngkin. I don’t want to teach woke hateful things but do not feel comfortable speaking out at my school.

McAuliffe would be better for teachers' unions.

DING DING DING.

+1. Caring about “schools” and caring about kids’ education is not the same thing.

Pray tell, what woke hateful things are you scared of teaching? Can you give examples?

For example, the lost cause perspective isn't the framework through which the civil war is taught and the history textbooks used in the state don't promote a "both sides" argument about the assassination of Martin Luther King jr.

He and all the Trumpkins will be sending you all subpoenas for your curriculum, emails, and all devices that have been on FCPS domain to communicate with your students

No mask mandate

Funds transferred from DOE budget to private schools and charters

I am a teacher and I will be fine with that.

No brainer. Open Schools or Closed Schools. Take your pick.

Yeah, get therapy. Schools are open. Next!

Ok, but now all manner of screwed up things are happening with schools. Also, democrats are unequivocally responsible for the school debacle of the past year. Should no one be held accountable? This is a personal issue for me, but I’m disgusted with democrats discriminating against Asian kids. Sorry, if you work and study hard, you shouldn’t be penalized for your skin color in order to fulfill some woke agenda. I’ll take Youngkin, thanks.

Tentatively. Loundon and Fairfax counties already planning to add one asynchronous day next year (read the survey that came out), McAuliffe lying about number of children who are currently in the hospitals with Covid, prepping the grounds for new round of school closures. Listen to his speech today and compare those numbers, not even close.

What survey addressed both LCPS and FCPS schools?

Isn’t the asynchronous day due to staffing shortages? McAuliffe wants to raise teacher pay which should help with that.

They are two separate surveys sent to parents in each country respectfully. Interestingly, FCPS surveys went to junk mail to all parents I know. Have I not heard of them, I would not find out about them.

They don't. Northam have not raised teachers' pay in 4 years, and Mac is not doing it.

DP. Both candidates have raising teacher pay in their platform. Why do you assume Youngkin will do it and McAuliffe won’t?
