Defending your school to obnoxious people- what's your best comeback?

Debates amongst my friends and other mothers are fierce when it comes to their choice in education system, I always found it humorous until we started researching schools. What has been one of your best comebacks in defending your school choice? - Private vs. Public and/or vs. Catholic/religious school?

Don't defend ... deflect. Anyone who likes to fight/criticize will not be put off by some snappy comeback.

Her: "I can't imagine why you chose such a snooty private school."
You: "Well, it works for us. Hey look over there! Is that a baby owl?"

I just say it was a good fit for child x. No comebacks required, it's a family decision. Easy for me to do now as I have one in public and one in private so I am not passing judgment on education options.

I just say I'm an education snob and still believe in elitism and the American Dream.

Don't defend, just say that you are happy that they are happy with their choice. Also, if you want to be mean (I hope not), you could say it in a patronizing way.

When some loud braggart tries to put me down and says his school is great, I tell him right away "now what's the matter buddy aint you heard of my school, it's #1 in the state?"

I went to ______ County public schools and it was awful. I vowed that if I ever had children, they would never go to public school here. I know I would have been able to achieve more if only I had agreed to go to private school like my parents wanted. I am not making the same mistake twice!

Don't defend because then you look, well defensive.

"This is the best choice for our family." Then change topics completely.

"Isn't it nice that we have so many good options for schools around here? Wow, look at that baby owl!"
