Of course I know about Auschwitz and the Final Solution. I’m not talking about sending Israelis / Palestinians to a death chamber. To liken it to historical events, I’m wondering why the leaders in Israel and Palestine aren’t coordinating ways for their people to emigrate to safe host countries, like the hundreds of thousands of Jews who emigrated from Germany and German occupied countries in the 1930s and early 1940s and subsequently survived WWII. |
Why is peace never an option? Hamas has said they will unarm if Israel accepts 1967 borders. Just like Israel views the situation as fighting for their lives so does Hamas. The only way for Israel to live in peace is to actually make peace. Sure Arafat should have accepted the deal offered back then. But he didn’t. But now Palestinians are willing to be reasonable. So should Israel. |
You are American and therefore don’t understand the visceral connection to the land of your ancestors. This is an observation , not a criticism. |
Israel doesn’t feel the need to do that. No country gives up land unless it has to. |
Yes if the US did subsidize Israel it would have to make choices -peace or endless war. With US subsidizing Israel’s existence Israel can continue its endless war, stealing more land and apartheid till daddy takes the keys away. 12,000 more settlements approved this year in the West Bank. Just immoral. This is why there is such a strong reaction to the student protesters. They are pushing for disinvestment. When that happens Israel is done. Israel will have to stop the settlements and seek peace. Though Israel would kill any leader that entertain a two or one state solution. |
Is this a joke? |
Twenty years ago, under Ariel Sharon, Israel retreated to defensible borders. They had their soldiers forcibly remove Israelis from their homes and withdrew from Gaza. Yet still more attacks. A better solution is to dissolve Gaza and the West Bank and place them under permanent control of Egypt and Jordan, as they were before 1967. |
12,000 new homes in the West Bank this year. Israel did not retreat. They did the opposite. |
Are you conflating 20 years? |
I love how you say “forcibly remove Israelis from their homes” like it was an act of charity when the truth is they should have never been there in the first place. Do you want a brownie for returning stolen property? |
Tell us what they did in the West Bank during this time. |
No that is in the last year. The last year not 20 years. |
You are advocating the forced removal of the Jewish people from Israel. That would, inarguably, be considered to be Genocide. The forced removal of a people from their home is genocide, and you are absolutely sick for even suggesting that the Genocide of the Jewish Israelis would be an appropriate. |
What is wrong with building new homes in their country? We are currently in a housing crisis in the United States, we would do well to look at Israel’s successes in mass building to help address our concerns. |
