What are kids doing this week?

My middle schooler is doing fun stuff. Didn't even take IPad to school.
High schooler went to school for exams but didn't have any so just hung out. Didn't go to any classes and we didn't get a notice that they weren't there for attendance. If we do not use all of our snow days during the year, why can't school end a week earlier?

Because then the preceding week would become the final one and would be as useless as the current one is.

100% agree this week is a waste. Our schools know it. They wrapped everything up on Friday. Tons of absences this week. Next week, we're going on vacation the last 1/2 week of school.

The last week is always fun stuff and not learning the curriculum. Enjoy it! Your kids are having fun and not sitting at home on their screens!

My high schooler is not going to school. Had last final today.

Middle schooler doing nothing.

The whole thing is silly.

Our middle schooler has a week of mini-lessons on topics the teachers chose to offer, and the kids signed up for the ones they wanted. Today they made planter boxes (with plants). Friends took a full day bike tour of Arlington with teachers. Tomorrow, Italian Cooking and Badminton.

They watched the World Cup in my kids elementary school

High schooler— not going because not taking any finals this week (they were given before APs, or he’s exempt, depending on the class).

Middle schooler— fun educational activities, parties, watching World Cup, playing soccer outside, etc. They had tests up until last Friday.

My HS kid has one more final this week and then he’s done. Only going in on the days he has tests.

Thanks for telling me your high school kids weren't going. Mine didn't b/c no tests but I didn't know if it was real or not. From what I can tell, the kids who do go, hang in the common areas.

At Wakefield at least, the principal sent a message to parents saying that teachers would let admin know which students were exempt from their final and didn’t need to come in.
