GWU sold out to Amazon in Ashburn. Data center a certainty now?

George Washington University sold its 122-acre Virginia campus in Ashburn to Amazon Web Services for $427 million (that is $3.5 million per acre). The sale is final.

Amazon has not disclosed plans for the property.

Did GW just saddle us with another horrendous data center?

Unclear.

AWS has a lot of staff working in leased offices along the Silver Line. It is at least possible they would consolidate those staff onto a campus they own outright.
