| Big mistake Thomas Taylor. Your butt is about to be sued. Maryland has a free speech law. Instead of fixing problems, MCPS just wants to hide them. Please support student journalists! |
|
Good for you! As a former student journalist I remember when I was censored by my principal - over 30 years ago! Still sits with me. Unacceptable.
What is he censoring now? Maybe the banner can report on this - Streisand effect and all
|
| Looks like you need a basic high school journalism class yourself. |
| If you have been paying attention to anything MCPS has been doing, this move shouldn’t surprise. Controlling the narrative within MCPS is Taylor’s number one priority. |
| WTH are you talking about, OP? |
| Censoring student journalists is important. Kids need the experience to learn from |

| What did he censor? |
|
Here is the story in Bethesda magazine.
https://bethesdamagazine.com/2026/06/12/journalism-students-mpcs-open-letter/ Superintendent Trump. |
| The Washington Post has an article about it too - maybe 2 days ago. That all articles in MCPS student newspapers must be pre approved by the principal before they can be published. Teacher mentor approval is not enough |
| This is a really bad look for MCPS. Can we ever get some good news? |
| No one has accused anyone of any censorship. Just complaining that educators are looking at what students are doing. |
| Look to across the river at FCPS is you want to know how this will go. |
|
Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
