Looking and Feeling old at 39

Anonymous
I already live a healthy and "clean" life. I do not drink or smoke. I get enough sleep: 6-9 hours daily. I eat a nutrient rich diet although I am not religious about only eating healthy; I get pizza and takeout as desired. I am probably 10 lbs overweight.

When I wear makeup now I look old as I have eye bags even though I do not have obvious wrinkles or sagging. My cheeks are still plump and healthy looking.

I just don't look like myself. Any recommendations?

So...you just have bags under your eyes?

Get more sleep and lose 20 lbs. you don’t sound healthy at all. Healthy people aren’t overweight. 6 hours of sleep isn’t enough.

FFS - wait until you are over 50. Enjoy it now!

Makeup as in foundation? Stop wearing it and go for a more natural look.

Well, 39 is old. You're middle aged. You're ancient to a 20 year old who is half your age. Accept it and move on.

All of these mean pps are clearly insecure and trying to bring you down because they are jealous you are only 39

You do sound healthy and fine -- sometimes I notice my face sags so much more when I don't get enough sleep, eat too much salt or not enough water. Find some good face masks to hydrate and firm your skin at night. Consult with a dermatologist about what it is that is bothering you. And I agree that too much makeup ages you a lot as you get older, especially when you wear it under the eyes.

Probably need to change your concealer and skim care routine . I don't have wrinkles yet and my skin is still healthy, but I do have more noticeable darkness under my eyes. I this and a little tinted moisturizer and I look so much better than when I go heavy on the concealer and foundation. https://www.sephora.com/product/banana-bright-vitamin-cc-eye-sticks-P504639?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=2764793&om_mmc=ppc-GG_17798154149___2648483__9002485_m&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17790678136&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb0x9H43Tjw1REibmnDcgBqy9&gclid=CjwKCAjw857RBhAgEiwAI-1yKLPsX70Iqy7UnSFMA1dO4TlUExSA6iHqCt18IMpp5ZaL1_eVNELy1BoC0hUQAvD_BwE

A couple of thoughts-

1. GLP-1- It will change your life. If you're 10 pounds overweight you're likely 30 or so pounds higher than the middle of a healthy BMI range. You should also actually weigh yourself today and check a BMI calculator. A lot of people think they're 10 pounds overweight and it's more like 30...
Losing a large chunk of weight will make the biggest difference to your overall looks. People get wrapped up in thinking about whether or not their diet is "healthy" but it if you're eating too many calories you will be overweight regardless of the calorie source.

2. Skincare- you'll need to do some trial and error on a routine that works for you, but the best bang for your buck is absolutely tretinoin. It requires a prescription (easy to get online) and it takes a long time for results but stick with it. You'll thank yourself in 10 years. You also need to be wearing sunscreen all day every day. What is your current routine?

3. Makeup- As other posters have suggested, full makeup is aging on middle aged skin. Better to focus on skincare and skip foundation, etc.

4. How are your eyebrows? If they need fixing this can make a huge difference to your overall look.

5. Do your teeth need bleaching? This is pretty quick and painless and a simple upgrade.

Work out girl! That's all.

You probably look fine, but you may be comparing yourself unfairly to young influencers or AI/filtered pics.
