Eagle Bank Arena graduation

How bad is the parking? How far in advance did you get there in order to get decent seats?

Aren’t there parking garages galore?

Parking was fine, but people are definitely lined up before doors opened. I was there at doors unlocking and sat pretty far up. There were empty seats on the lower level, but it gets so chaotic it's hard to realize that until later.

Parking isn’t bad. The mania when the doors open with people running to hold rows of seats is something else.

Also, the acoustics up high are awful. You won’t understand a word.

Um, not really. I can think of a couple at GMU off the top of my head but not convenient to the actual arena.

Pro tip - enter campus from Braddock Rd near the big electronic sign across from sideburn rd, rather than where the long line of cars goes. Trun left into the lots near the South entrance. Much less traffic and waiting to park there

There are parking lots, I don't think it's garages.

That's crazy. I thought people aren't allowed to reserve seats.

There's a ton of parking and they have attendants directing you. You have to go through a metal detector and I think this year they have a clear bag policy. Lots of seating so I don't know why you would get there super early. Everyone will be in the stands.

If the school has a large graduating class, it can be difficult.

Problem: people saving blocks of seats--and then, right before the ceremony starts, discovers that their family already found them in another area.

The venue does not allow people to save multiple seats.

They aren't allowed to reserve seats

Yeah, just sit in them. What are they going to do?

You're recommending initiating a confrontation at your kid's graduation ceremony, even if you win you've already lost.

Big families will block off big blocks of seats. To get prime seats, get there 30 minutes before the doors open, anything more than an hour isn't necessary. EBA isn't that big, you can show up any time and get seated (as long as you can handle the stairs.)
