| I drive a hybrid, and I understand the proposal. My hybrid is not plug-in, and the proposal is only for plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles. With that said, my hybrid car is on the road, causing wear and tear, potholes, etc just like an ICE auto. Why should I not pay for road upkeep, like those who operate ICE vehicles? The gas tax funds road upkeep to keep roads safe for all vehicles, not just ICE vehicles. |

| If they want to make it fair, base it on how much you drive. An EV owner who drives 20k miles per year should pay more than an EV owner who drives 5k mile per year. |

How would you capture that? It would be a self-report, and a lot of people are not honest when it comes to paying taxes. Of course, with the way in which this current administration is stealing money hand over foot, I can understand if everyone revolts and refuses to pay taxes. |

How about working with the states to capture a vehicle's mileage as part of its annual inspection? |

| I’m sorry, I support the proposals to make EV drivers pay their fair share for road upkeep. They may not be paying gas taxes, which is how we’ve funded these programs to date, but they are still using and benefiting from the roads and should be doing their part. |

Approximately 30 states do not require annual inspections. Some states don't require an inspection after the first inspection. And then there are other states that only require an emission inspection. So again I ask, how are you going to capture what you ask without incurring additional expenses to the state and driver? The cost to implement may cost more to the driver than the initial proposed $130. |

What I don't understand is aren't elected MAGA and MAGA citizens concerned about getting cancer?!? Bankrupting their grandkids? Getting listeria? Their kids getting shot at school? I just don't get it. |

| In addition to not paying gas taxes to upkeep roads, EVs weigh much more than ICE vehicles and their increased weight is more of a burden on roadways. And while they might not pollute the air directly, they charge with power that is usually based off of releasing carbon and more importantly the batteries that they use are incredibly toxic and almost impossible to dispose of in a way that doesn’t damage the environment. |
