Fairfax crime map

Saw a Fox news clip about Descano and the faces of 7 illegal immigrants arrested for crime
https://youtu.be/KTIQyOfQQ68?t=232
(around 3:50 timestamp)

It is unclear to me though what crime these people committed, and how "recent" these crimes are (e.g. it would be massively different if these arrests are over the last month period or over the last 5 years).
So to fact-check this, I am looking for an independent source to find the trajectory of crime in fairfax county over time and where exactly the crimes have been committed.
So far I have found the following websites:

  • - https://www.fcpod.org/pages/crime-data Information is very aggregated and crime map doesn't show exact locations and crime type
    - https://crimegrade.org/violent-crime-fairfax-county-va/ again aggregated data, no time/location/crime type
    - https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/va/fairfax/crime again aggregated data, no time/location/crime type
    - https://spotcrime.com/VA/Fairfax%20County the map looks useful (pinpoints exact location and crime type) but only shows data on the last 3 days or so

  • So is there any useful source to review crime data in Fairfax county by location/time/crime type? Please no politics, just looking for facts here.

I used to follow the ffx police crime blotter until they stopped regularly posting most crimes a couple of years ago.

The VAST majority of crimes committed in Fairfax county, when they actually published the crimes, mugshots, names and residency of the criminals, were committed by people from Maryland, DC and Prince William County, who traveled into Fairfax County to commit crimes. Very few crimes were committed by Fairfax County residents.

The handful of crimes committed by ffx residents were along the Route 1 corridor, often committed by people who lived in that area against people who live in that area, or were committed by people who appeared more likely to either have gang ties and/or were not legally residing in the US.

If you are asking about the recent hearings with descano on capitol hill, 75% of the murders so far committed in Fairfax County this year were committed by illegal immigrants.

In the case of Stephanie Minter's murder, the murderer had 30+ mostly violent convictions that were downgraded to misdemeanors or dropped by Descano based on his written policy (written on the Fairfax Prosecutors website but removed once he was called to congress) to minimize and downgrade crime chargers for illegal immigrants to avoid bringing ice attention to their illegal status, and a very long emaile paper trail to Descano from the police department begging him to please press charges against that illegal immigrant due to his increasingly violent crimes, pointing out explicitly that it was only a matter of time before the man killed someone (Stephanie Minter)

Also search the Fairfax High School groping case. The way that Descano's office treated that dozen plus brave young ladies, including at least one as young as 13, to protect an adult male illegal immigrant by downgrading his sexual assaults and not looping the victims in on the trial date until late the night before hoping the victims would miss it, is abhorrent.

That all being said, why is this thread in the real estate forum?

This is false. About two-thirds of crimes in Fairfax County are committed by Fairfax County residents:

I'm not interested in the profile of the criminals, like where they live, if they are illegal immigrants or not etc. These news about Descano only sparked my interest.

I'm only looking for crime data that specifies location/date/crime type, either on a map or in plain data. The spotcrime.com website is the closest to what I need but this only seems to track very recent crimes only.

Didn't see any better fit except the general forum, but I thought it would fit here as crime is linked to property values.

good luck all that data is mostly buried or renamed. Please also see DC and City of Alexandria.

With that said there was a news story yesterday I saw that came up in my feed that said 50% of all murders in Fairfax committed by illegals. Who knows how accurate of of this is at this point though.

The stats posted include 2019, which was pre-Descano. Stop trying to blame Fairfax's problems on other people -- Fairfax crimes are overwhelmingly committed by Fairfax residents.

So there is no data? Why would they do that?

Noone cares about citizens if you are in one of the sanctuary cities. Even after paying taxes, you are second grade citizen. Make sure he gets elected next time. LOL

I have been living here for a while and it is increasing along with more burglary and break-ins. It used to be a safe county before increase in illegal population. I know a lot of people who are left leaning don't see that or try to find stats that support otherwise but see how safe you feel now compared to 10 years ago and you have the answer.
