| The age changes, the clubs fighting for players, switching leagues, poaching players, revolving door of coaches, college roster limits, sky high costs for clubs. It feels different this time. Like the whole system is going to crash and burn. Tell me this is just normal youth soccer. |
|
why would you want this to be normal?
|
You may be right. DMV futbol is not the standard however. This may be a major year of change or it may not mean much once this region heads north and south for tourneys |
| Would it be the worst thing in the world if it all crashed and burned? |
What does this even mean? We are talking about youth soccer. |
I dont know but it gets the people going. |
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was a great reset where clubs and parents approached youth sports in a way that puts kids first in an age appropriate way? It’s almost like everyone needs a hard reset to get their properties right. |
1) There are clubs that are $150/month 2) There are clubs that don’t care about results 3) There are clubs that are not toxic The system works because of parental decisions, mostly of the DCUM types. Be self-reflective of the decisions that you make and the results that incur. This system is a mirror of you the majority of the consumers are. |
Yawn. Same sh*t, different day. |
The only way that happens is if youth sports is funded by public community dollars, like public schools and libraries, and not as pay for service businesses. |
Which clubs are these? |
| DMV is a mess. |
|
The DMV is definitely a mess. And your teams will continue to be average as you all fight to play up and not be on an age appropriate platform.
You’ll never compete until you centralize talent, and have that talent play their own age. Continue to suck, y’all. We love it. |
How many times per week do these $150/month clubs practice? Contrary to assumptions, some kids play travel for more soccer, not bragging rights. |
| And the age change will not be done this year. The clubs didn’t recalibrate enough. There will be younger kids moved down and older kids moved up next year as well. |
