Jen’s shilling and the frequency of it seems way over the top and way way way more than I ‘ve ever seen, even for the holiday season. The constant shilling happens because she seems to be living alone in that house. Maybe Remy lives with her? But no serious relationship to spend the time with. Her friends all seem to have functioning marriages and are home with their husbands a lot of the time. Her supposed boyfriend is a plane ride away. She seems a little lonely.

The Awake book seemed to open a lot more doors than her previous ones. The NYT profile, the invite to the Reese Witherspoon production company event, multiple interviews and PR pieces in high-traffic sites. But it faded out quickly with the news cycle. Will she seize on any of the opportunities or did those ships sail?

My money is on either a cookbook or menopause wellness course OR book by 2027. Maybe a grandma book, too.
Also, will 2026 be the year she returns to church?

In terms of writer "status", it did pretty well...recognized in the end of the year book lists... but I don't think that really matters to her, even though she brags about it. Her writing is simply a path to commerce now.

I don't think she will ever return to Church, as long as she has Instagram and can be smug in calling her little meetings "Church" where you light a candle and think good thoughts.

And stop copying Miss Melani and her hilarious We Do Not Care club. Tyler tried to artlessly say that you both have "shortened alphabets" that contain no Fs but that fell flat and drained the energy in the room.

The book did decently but books don’t make money; they’re PR. Problem with Jen is she can’t capitalize much on PR anymore because she has no presence outside of exposing her kids’ sensitivities. She doesn’t film well for TV or talk shows and she doesn’t interview others well either. Since she abandoned Christianity, she doesn’t have the built in base of loyal followers to show up to tours.

Jen's former base of fans and followers wanted to emulate the way she presented herself, her family and her close friends as they did good things in the name of Jesus. Helping the local poor, planting a church, international adoption.

Her new base of fans seems happy to complain about everything and wallow in anxiety and hopelessness. They also buy a lot of stuff. Are aimless but also angry on a daily basis. No peace.

You know, if she had said this 25 years ago, it would have been sincere and maybe actually comforting to someone.

Now it’s just posing and trying to project an image to gain followers.
