I will be staying with friends for 4-5 days. We are all retired, and have plenty of $. I will be traveling with just a carryon.
I am torn about arriving empty handed, but most hostess gifts (wine? Flowers?) would not fit in my suitcase. I could run out and buy something today , but I have a feeling they don’t really need/want little treats or knickknacks. Is it sufficient for me to just treat them to dinner while I am there? |
Yep! When friends come to visit, I want to see them. I want your time not a physical item.
Taking your hosts out for dinner is always appreciated!!
Yes, dinner is the perfect solution here.
Yes to dinner.
No. Do not arrive empty-handed. Get fancy chocolates and stuff them in your carryon.
Or buy at the airport. They often have some niceish things.
Dinner is perfect
Dinner...no airport chocolate
Dinner is great!
Either is fine!

Dinner- yes and you could also send a flower arrangement to get there the day before you do (with vase). |
Dinner, I don't want any little random gifts.
I always send a flower arrangement after I stay with friends. I definitely don't want knickknacks.
